This is a large and fabulous house, ideal for extended families and groups of friends wishing to share special moments together. Set in a tranquil hamlet on the edge of Bamburgh, this property is perfectly located for exploring this famously beautiful area of Northumberland. A few hundred metres from the property is Budle Bay, a nature reserve whose mudflats and beach are home to an abundance of birdlife. The historic town of Bamburgh is 2.5 miles away. It has a long stretch of sandy beach, a golf course, quaint streets filled with eateries, pubs and independent shops, and of course, the magnificent castle – which has been occupied by members of the Armstrong family since 1894.

This fantastic house has more than enough room for a party of eight to spread out and make themselves at home. The ground floor features spacious and comfortable rooms, stylishly decorated and equipped with everything you need for a memorable holiday. Relax in the large lounge with its abundant sofas and its wood burner in an impressive inglenook fireplace. Take a seat in the furnished conservatory to enjoy the sunshine and garden views, get some work done in the study, or play a round of pool in the games room. The vast, beautifully finished kitchen has everything you need to cater to a crowd, then enjoy your home-cooked creations on stools at the breakfast bar or gathered around the table in the dining room beside a second inglenook fireplace. A handy utility room contains a cloakroom, washing machine, drying rack and plenty of space to kick off sandy shoes before heading into the main house. A shared shower room completes the ground floor. Climb the main stairs from the hallway to find another seating area, a mezzanine lounge with a sofa, easy chairs, bookshelves, a TV, and an Xbox. Off this landing lies a shared bathroom and three bedrooms, one double, a twin, and the master bedroom. The master is a fantastic room with high ceilings, a king-size bed and an en-suite. The fourth bedroom, also a king-size, is accessed via a separate staircase from the kitchen.

This property has a large, beautiful garden with a furnished patio and an extensive lawn bordered by mature trees, shrubs and a stream. There is also a wonderful, enclosed BBQ hut with padded bench seating and a central cooking station, the perfect venue for hosting memorable evenings.

Absolute amazing place! 8 of us came for a diving trip, unfortunately due to bad seas the diving was cancelled. We were so fortunate to have such a huge place to spend time in. The games room was a big hit, the fire pit and bbq hut were amazing. The cottage is outstanding and the outside is beautiful. It had everything you could ever want. A nice size house in a small hamlet, directly off a main road but not too noisy. Exiting the property can be tricky as you can only see the road when most of the car bonet is into the road. Property itself is a nice size with plenty of space to spread out. Furniture was OK for the time we spent in the house. Kitchen needed a deep clean and like mosRead moret rentals the small appliances and utensils are way past thier prime, plenty of good quality crockery but pans and trays were worn. Oven makes a continuous ring sound, broken timer, had to turn off at isolator. The garden was good to exercise the dogs as there isn't much around the property to explore with everything on main roads. Short drive to shops but the co-op isn't the best. Surprised to see no handbook but most things are self explanatory. The smart tv and Internet were great to use and a must for the location. We had no signal on EE so internet was a must. Nice week in a good house, only slightly let down with age related items. Hide

Blue Poppy House in large, comfortable, in a great location and a good price. However, there are issues with a bad smell of drains and excessive noise when the shower pump in the en-suite is running, the garden is not maintained, and some new cooking utensils would be nice. Also, some of the rings on the hob no longer work

We rented this house for a family event. It was very spacious for 9 adults inside and out, extremely well-equipped and clean. A excellent welcome pack of basic supplies was provided. The location is very peaceful but within easy reach of the beaches and town of Bamburgh.

Following the reviews that we'd seen prior to the the holiday we were apprehensive about the visit. We however couldn't have been more surprised. The property was lovely, spacious and very clean. There were toilet rolls left in all bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen with a welcome pack including bin bags, tea towels, washing up liquid, tea, coffeRead moree, biscuits. The location is great, with a short drive to Bamburgh beach and Seahouses. We will definitely stop again! Hide

We had a really fabulous stay at Blue Poppy House. Wed read a couple of earlier reviews just before we left which were a little worrying, but it looks as though all concerns raised must have been well and truly addressed. The house was beautiful. Its warm, cosy, wonderfully decorated and had every amenity we needed. There was even a pile of board Read moregames in the little study off the lounge, which was a lovely touch. The garden was well maintained and the house was immaculately clean throughout. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedrooms were so dark and quiet, we had some of the best nights sleep in a long time. There was a good supply of cleaning materials, loo roll and hand soap, good-quality bed linen, and plenty of fluffy white towels. We took our own logs and thoroughly enjoyed the open log fire in the sitting room each evening. Theres also a very good living flame style heater in the dining room, which is very cosy if needed. The location is ideal. Weve already booked our next stay and cant wait to return. Hide

Lovely location, was a little nervous as had read some poor reviews. However, was impressed. Location is perfect, is on what could be a busy road but during Christmas it was quiet. It was very clean, apart from the oven which was a dirty and I ended up giving it a good clean before others arrived. House is a good size for 8 people, and lovely havinRead moreg separate bedroom from the kitchen, as perfect for the young family. It would be perfect in the summer as good garden space and we probably would have made use of the conservatory and the BBQ space. Was a surprise when the TV was SMART with Netflix, nice to chill out at Christmas with the fire on. Oven was challenging to use, and took some planning. Was disappointed with the welcome pack. All in all we enjoyed our stay it was perfect for the 8 of us and the dog, plenty of room and space, would recommend. Hide
