This versatile farmhouse has been kitted out with all you need for a fun and relaxing holiday to suit all ages and is located just 2.5 miles from the expanse of golden sands and excellent surf found on Woolacombe Beach. The house itself is surrounded by farmland with alpacas grazing in the fields and a footpath takes you to the pretty Victorian town of Ilfracombe, 2 miles away, which has great restaurants, independent shops and art and craft galleries as well as an aquarium and harbour. The historic market town of Barnstaple, 12 miles away, is one of the largest towns in North Devon and has plenty of attractions including several museums, a sculpture garden and a historic pannier market.

The house itself is steeped in history with parts dating back to before the Domesday Book and is laid out over three levels with some interior steps. The main entrance opens onto the top floor, where you will find the main living space. This includes a vaulted oak beamed kitchen with slate flooring and a good size dining table, a large dining room with bi-fold double doors that open out onto a furnished patio area, and a separate seating area with a wood burner. The two bedrooms on this level include a king-size with an en-suite shower and a twin bedroom. The other bedrooms are on the middle floor. The master bedroom is accessed via a private staircase from the reading room and has a spiral staircase to the infinity swimming pool and hot tub. A long wood-panelled corridor lined with books leads to the other two bedrooms and a snug. The dual aspect reading room connects to the lower level, where you’ll find a large games room with billiard table, a selection of toys and games, some comfortable seating and access to the swimming pool via a spiral staircase.

The large garden has a children’s play area and there’s a rough garden area for pets. Light up the BBQ, pour yourself a glass of wine and make the most of the long summer evenings.

High View was an excellent property for our three families because it gave each group a space of their own. It is comfortable and well appointed. The swimming pool and hot tub were fantastic and used every day. All of us fell in love with the alpacas and being able to get so close to them. This is a lovely farmhouse with stunning views a few miles from beautiful beaches. Perfect for a big family with small children and a dog. Very homely and comfortable with good facilities. Excellent property perfect for a large family gathering. Swimming pool, hot tub and pool table were excellent and kept everyone entertained! We all have a new found love for alpacas - they were amazing and so entertaining! Owners were lovely and very accommodating. Highly recommended.

We had a great holiday at High View. Friendly owners who arranged for us to feed the Alpacas. Beautiful home with lovely pool and other facilities. Lovely views from High View farmhouse. Close to local beaches and other activities. We're looking forward to staying again in the future.

Great for a family get together. Large kitchen and separate eating space with lovely views. Alpacas bring exotic feel to fields. Goid walks, beaches nearby to explore and boats and train trips. Need to go back to explore more!!
