A surprisingly spacious cottage-style property with four bedrooms that’s just perfect as self-catering holiday accommodation for all the family – you can even bring the pooch! It’s conveniently located along the High Street, but towards the end of town so you’re assured of close access to the beach and also peace and quiet. Bliss! There’s no shortage of things to do in Aldeburgh with lots of independent shops to peruse, a gallery and Aldeburgh Museum, housed in the fascinating timber-framed Moot Hall dating from the 16th century. Walk along the shingle beach to form your own opinion of the controversial Scallop sculpture, put up in 2003 and dedicated to possibly the town’s most famous resident – Sir Benjamin Britten. The internationally acclaimed Aldeburgh Festival was founded by him and remains popular today; it’s held at Snape Maltings 6 miles inland, but they’re worth a visit all year round. Fish and chips are a must in this town but they are so good, be prepared to queue. Or take smoked fish and seafood home from one of the shacks on the beach. Check out the famous House in the Clouds in Thorpeness just 2.5 miles away. If history is your thing, the Parham Airfield Museum and the Bentwaters Cold War Museum are both just 11 miles away.
Guests have everything they could possibly need in this four-bedroom house plus plenty of space and character in spades. Comfortable seating welcomes you into the living room with its French doors to the light-filled conservatory. There’s comfortable seating in there too plus a table for eight – one of three dining options in this property. The garden patio offers another, while the cosy dining room has the third, along with wood flooring and period doors. Fix a feast in the sizeable kitchen, it’s got all you’ll need on a self-catering family break. There’s a useful lobby too with some of the white goods and stairs up to one of the bedrooms. How exciting! A shower room and WC completes the ground floor. Four bedrooms await upstairs, and with two doubles and two twins, sleeping arrangements should be easy to negotiate. The twin accessed directly by its own stairs is large with low-level cottage-type window and a Velux for even more light plus lovely exposed beams. However, all the rooms are enticing with crisp, light decor, sloping ceilings and white furniture. They share another bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC.
Directly outside the conservatory to the rear of the house is the patio with garden furniture and also a BBQ for those sunny holiday evenings. The garden provides a good sized lawn, and is enclosed with hedges and trees lining the boundary.
