Situated in the picturesque village of Walberswick, this charming home is a perfect base for a larger group of eight to explore Suffolk’s many attractions. A former fishing village located across the harbour from Southwold, Walberswick offers guests the best of two must-visit locations. Walberswick is a popular summer destination with its picturesque shoreline and family-friendly attractions, whilst Southwold provides some wonderfully peaceful, coastal countryside that has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With access to the Suffolk Coast Path right from the front door as well as the promenade, pier, sandy beach and interesting shops, pubs and eateries of Southwold, guests at this property will be spoiled for choice. The historic (and very beautiful) village of Blythburgh is 3.5 miles away and the long gravel beach and monastery ruins of Dunwich are just over 6 miles away. Aldeburgh, the popular seaside town, is 15 miles away where you can explore the town’s vibrant centre and a number of historical landmarks. Closer to home, guests can take a stroll to a choice of two highly regarded pubs, 0.3 miles away and a shop 0.1 miles away.

The ground floor of this light-filled property features gorgeous and welcoming sitting room, centred around a wood burner. From here, there are views out to the garden and large, glazed doors lead into the stunning, open-plan kitchen and dining area. As well as having stylish fixtures and fittings, this space is flooded with natural light from the large windows and there’s plenty of room to keep the guest of the group company. Additional space for gathering can be found in the snug, with an additional TV, it’s ideal for any younger members of the group who may want their own space. A utility room and WC can also be found on this floor. On the first floor are four spacious and well-furnished bedrooms, the master, a lovely super-king, also boasts an en-suite shower room. There is also a further inviting super-king room, a double and a twin with a stylish family bathroom completing the floor.

Outside the property, guests can enjoy a large south-facing garden and patio with garden furniture and table tennis table.

Lovely house in a pleasant village where a visit to The Anchor and a trip on the ferry are not to be missed. Great pubs and food within easy driving distance. Highly recommended.

We had the most wonderful week at Blauhaus. Location was perfect and the house was very comfortable and more than met our needs as a multigenerational group. Having stayed at a number of houses in Walberswick over the years, this is now a firm favourite and we look forward to staying there again

We had a lovely stay at Blauhaus, it's a perfect distance from the sea The village has 2 nice pubs and a very handy and well stocked co-op round the corner A nice well appointed house, it needs a bit of tlc, but was very comfortable and perfect for our family holiday

We enjoyed a lovely family holiday here (2 couples, 2 yr old & 4 months & dog) Great house & garden with lots of space & good layout. Nice walk to beach, pub & shops. Very handy for small supermarket & fab deli. Would love to come again.

Our main problem during the holiday was a lack of hot water for 2 days. This was due to a problem with the reading of the oil level apparently. We had tried the immersion heater ourselves and left it 24 hours before contacting, hoping this would work, but sadly not. This would have been a bigger issue had the babies still been with us but fortunatelyRead more, they had gone home. At no time was compensation offered for our inconvenience of cold showers for a couple of days and obviously a saving was made on the fuel consumption during that time.I also felt that having to strip all the beds , empty bins etc meant that we were also going some way to do the weekly clean. The breakages insurance is non refundable:. One glass was broken and this happened spontanously on the drainer. We also had to provide mattresses for the travel cots in addition to sheets and go rummaging for the cots in the wardrobes on arrival.Generally the accomodation was spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the location. Hide
