Whether you're tickling the ivories, sitting down to a good book or moseying along to the nearby beach, we can assure a good time will be had by all when staying in this eclectic choice of accommodation. The cottage is located in Mousehole, a South Cornwall village that’s been maintained with plenty of old-time charm making it an excellent holiday destination. Wander out to the harbour (less than 0.5 miles) where you’ll find independent shops and eateries with views of St Clement’s Isle. The village is also home to a relatively quiet and peaceful family beach that’s located less than 200 metres from home. Those who wish to venture further afield can follow the South West Coast Path along the temperate and beautiful Penwith Heritage Coast or take a trip to the bustling nearby town of Penzance (3.5 miles).

A traditional eye has been maintained when decorating this property, with painted beams and floral soft furnishings adding a charming feel to the place. Discover far-reaching sea views from the lovely lounge/diner, a space with an open fire, comfy sofas and a dining table set for eight. You'll want to stock up on locally sourced seafood and goodies when coming home to cook delicious dinners. The bespoke kitchen is on-hand for doing just that, complete with a traditional Aga and plenty of countertop space. For those not up to the challenge of cooking on an Aga, the next-door utility room is equipped with an electric oven and numerous other white goods that'll help you out throughout your stay. There’s also a handy shower room with WC down here, along with plenty of storage space for bikes or surfboards. Venture upstairs to find the social hub of the house, the library. Along with an abundance of seating options, a baby grand piano and a Smart TV/DVD, here you’ll find a vibrant mix of literature, history books and everything in between – judge a book by its cover and sit down to learn something new. Five delightful bedrooms are laid out on the first floor, each one offering either sea views or French door access to the patio and courtyard. Two king-size, one double and two single bedrooms are all decorated in pretty pastel colourways with matching accents. Finally, a family bathroom, shower room and separate WC complete the accommodation’s offering.

Exit the accommodation via the kitchen, utility room or bedrooms from the rear first floor to access the courtyard. Private outdoor space is highly sought after in Mousehole so be sure to make the most of it in sunny weather, setting up for al fresco dinners at the lovely bistro set.

This cottage is amazing, beautiful location. Lying in bed watching the stunning sunrise will stay for some time. Excellent location. Wonderful views. Comfortable beds. Well equipped. However the shower over the bath is only a dribble!!! The window in the bathroom would only open an inch. Mousehole is a beRead moreautiful place, this cottage is in an enviable position and very quirky but obviously in need of some building work to maintain it and sort out the damp. Also In need of a more powerful shower over the bath. Hide

An extensive well appointed property in a superb location which is ideal for an extended family group or a large party. We were all amazed as to how big the property was on the inside yet was quaint from the outside. All our party said they would have no hesitation booking this property again if staying in Mousehole.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Kellan. It has a fabulously quirky property and the library and piano were extremely welcome. The location on the seafront and by the car park unrivalled. The cottage is very well equipped, warm and homely. We hope to return.

The view of the ocean was amazing and the sound of the waves crashing just outside added to the houses character. The Kellan was well stocked and the beds very comfortable. There was lots of room for our entire group. Great place to stay and access other villages around the coast. We enjoyed our stay.
