Nestled into the east bank of the River Dart is this beautiful, contemporary property in the historic village of Kingswear. Guests can enjoy river and countryside views from almost every room in the house. It is perfectly situated for walks on the South West Coast Path or sightseeing, shopping and entertaining all the family with a visit to Dartmouth, which is only a short ferry ride away. A 7-mile drive will bring you to the famous fishing town of Brixham, and the fantastic family attraction of Paignton Zoo is 8 miles away. If you don’t fancy driving, enjoy the thrills of the steam train from Kingswear to Paignton or purchase a Round Robin pass which allows you to explore the South Hams and Torbay by boat, train and bus. This really is the perfect retreat for families, friends, generations and walkers.

On entering, take a moment to fully soak in the magnificent views of the River Dart and rolling fields from the large picture windows in this spacious room, come day or night. This open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge is equipped with NEFF appliances and a breakfast bar with two stools. A dining table takes centre stage with enough seating for all eight guests. Strategically placed to the right of the room are plush sofas overlooking the river, perfect for early risers to enjoy a peaceful morning watching the world wake up. With hard flooring at your feet, this room is ideal for your four-legged friends to spend time with you on holiday. The house is upside-down in layout. Moving downstairs are three of the four bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom features views of the River Dart, Waterhead Creek and green fields, and is furnished with a king-size bed, built-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower and WC. The second bedroom has views stretching into Waterhead Creek and has twin beds that can be zipped together to form a king-size. This bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room with WC. Bedroom three is towards the rear of the property, overlooking the rear patio. The patio can be accessed via the door from this bedroom and there are external steps leading to the multi-tiered garden and back up to the roadside. The bedroom has a double bed with a built-in wardrobe. There is a small wall partition leading to a dressing room and en-suite shower room with WC. Down the next flight of stairs is the utility room with a WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. The second lounge space has beautiful views of the River Dart and countryside, with TV and DVD player, and access to the decked balcony. The fourth bedroom is located off the second lounge with more gorgeous river and countryside views to enjoy from the twin zip-and-link beds that can form into a king on request. This final bedroom also has an en-suite, which features a bath with overhead shower and WC. From this bedroom there is a door taking you out onto the decked balcony.

The garden and balcony are fully enclosed and can be accessed from the house in several locations. Steps lead off the second lounge and fourth bedroom to a decked balcony overlooking the river. There is a flight of external steps to a larger sun terrace below, with rattan furniture ideal for al fresco dining on summer evenings and enjoying a family BBQ. Down from the sun terrace is a gravel area with shrubs.

This is a great property to stay in, for a week. The view is amazing, the house makes the most of it. Local amenities arent far away, and its a pleasant walk to the ferry to go across to Dartmouth. Theres lots to do in the area, or not, if you want to quietly relax. Great for dogs and walking. The house is in a really quiet area, minimal traffic,Read more vehicular or pedestrian. The walk up to the house is quite steep, depending on which route you take. Overall, a brilliant week, in a great house. Hide

A lovely property with beautiful views to Dartmouth. Comfy beds. It is spread over several floors so more stairs than we imagined but if you are fit and able a great property and location.

We loved the house, great location and wonderful views but there is an issue with noise in the bedroom below the living room. The slightest noise, even just creeping across the living room floor reverberated loudly in the bedroom. Love the wooden floor but perhaps rugs might help with the noise. We had a couple of early risers in our party so made Read morethings difficult. Hide

With 4 bedrooms and plenty of room Treetops is a great house for a family holiday, with lovely views across the water to Dartmouth. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the little ferry over to Dartmouth but the most direct way is also very steep, however there is an alternative way that is less steep and takes a few minutes longer. It's great to leRead moreave the cars and just walk to the many attractions in the area as parking in Dartmouth can be a real problem in high season. Hide
