This complex of four restored cottages on a secluded farm, surrounded by spectacular countryside, makes a brilliant base for exploring the Brecon Beacons. Sleeping up to 21 people, these cottages are ideal for larger groups, multiple families or one extended family. All three properties feature attractive beamed ceilings, both up and downstairs, as well as some exposed stone walls. There are stacks to do right here with two hot tubs, a games room, a sunroom, garden space, a mountain bike track and woodland to explore. But, if you can tear yourself away, then head to Brecon 10 miles away for supplies and retail therapy. The Brecon Beacons National Park starts around 7 miles away; the attractive former spa town of Builth Wells is 8 miles. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal also starts near the property, perfect for a gentle stroll on the flat.

Unit 1 (sleeping five guests) is the smallest, with a comfortable lounge featuring a wood burner-effect electric fire for cooler days, and a well-equipped kitchen with farm-style table and chairs for six. There’s also a secure interconnecting door to Unit 2 from here. Upstairs, a family can sleep in one room with a double and single bed, and there’s another double room – both share the bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Unit 2 (sleeps six guests) offers open-plan living downstairs with a spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area. Its comfortable seating is set around the central double-sided wood burner-effect electric fire. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen and dining area for up to six. The sleeping accommodation comprises two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and a twin. There’s also a family bathroom with a bath, double-size shower and WC.

Unit 3 (sleeps eight guests) is the biggest of the three and has additional luxury touches such as a sunroom which is brilliant if the Welsh weather lives up to its reputation. Again, the open-plan living accommodation downstairs consists of a cosy lounge with a wood burner, a spacious kitchen with all the mod cons and a dining area with dining tables that can be pushed together for a special occasion. For the sleeping arrangements, there’s a double bedroom with an additional sofa bed, a double with an extra single bed and an en-suite shower room with WC, plus one twin bedroom.

Unit 4 (The Cwtch) Sleeps 2 guests. A cosy couples retreat with stunning views of the Brecon Beacons, dining, living, kitchen area, double bedroom with stunning views of the Brecon Beacons, shower room with wc

The outside is just as stunning, with plenty to do for all ages. A private patio and garden areas with furniture and BBQ make al fresco dining super easy. There’s a children’s play park, two hot tubs that are undercover but with open views, and a games room with table football, darts, table tennis and more. Guests can even explore the surrounding fields and woodland or try out the mountain biking track.

The layout of the property is absolutely perfect for extended families/friends to get together and yet have separate sleeping living areas. The main unit has plenty of space for meals and drinks for everyone. All of the cottages are beautiful and well maintained. The property has the most wonderful views of the valley, it's really breathtaking tRead moreo see sunrise/sunset. We liked the fact it was just our family there and it's remoteness. The games barn was super fun and we spent lots of time in there together. The hot tubs were also great and so relaxing looking out at the views. We did attempt a walk (due to the storm the previous week everywhere was water logged). There were no public footpaths signposted and unfortunately no specific literature in relation to walking routes. We would definitely recommend this property and we can't wait to return in the near future. Hide

Fabulous stay, stunning views. The beds were comfortable, the owners were on hand if any issues arose which is brilliant, they came and checked the hot tubs everyday. They checked everything was ok, with us. We had a fabulous time and there was plenty of space. Would definitelyrecommend this place.

On the first evening the owner, arrived and gave us a tray of top-quality bread from a local bakery. In all, we had a wonderful weekend in a beautiful location. Thank you

In general we found the cottages to be set in a beautiful location (as described on the website). However the games room is in a very sorry state and hasnt been looked after. All sports equipment inside were damaged or incomplete. Maybe this is due to the owners attention being focused on the new games room being built. The outdoor play ground had Read morebeen removed and relocated away from use. This might have been because it was damaged, or deemed dangerous. I strongly believe these point should have been brought to my attention prior to our arrival. The outdoor cigarette bins were over flowing and hadnt been empty for sometime. As a family of non-smokers this left an unpleasant smell around them. The properties were found in a good state but in need of a good dusting and some TLC. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly even tended to the unpleasant job of clearing a blockage, caused by previous holiday makers, to the toilet system. However the warmth of the owners, coupled with the beauty of the location outweigh all negative points. Would love to return in the not so distant future. Hide
