This well-presented five-bedroom property is just walking distance to the nearest village, but feels beautifully remote and, with fabulous touches like the hot tub and wood burner, is the ideal setting for large family holidays or group gatherings. Machynlleth, a small Welsh market town, is just 1.5 miles away and although it’s small, it packs a mighty punch in terms of things to do. It is known as the ‘ancient capital of Wales’ and has close links to Owain Glyndwr the rebel Prince of Wales. It’s also home to MoMA - Wales Museum of Modern Art. The annual comedy festival boosts the population and hopefully raises a smile. Within 5 miles, you are in Snowdonia National Park, or you can work on your carbon footprint at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Sandy Ynyslas Beach is 10 miles while Aberdyfi is just a little further at 12 miles and they are located either side of the Dyfi Estuary. If you fancy getting out and about, walking and cycling trails leave almost literally from the front door.

The interiors are stylish and contemporary, relaxing yet smart, in this spacious three-storey house with high ceilings. There’s a downstairs WC and somewhere to hang your wet things in the cloakroom and a gorgeous lounge with scenic bay window complete with window seat, wood burner, two leather sofas and high ceilings with feature beam and floorboards covered by a large rug. It won’t be a chore spending time in the contemporary wood-finish kitchen with dual-aspect views and all mod cons, plus access to the decking BBQ and hot tub area. Admire the rustic vibe of the dining room with its bay window seat, stained floorboards, chunky oak table and chairs seating ten. Upstairs, enjoy the stunning views from two en-suite king-size bedrooms and one double on the first floor. All three rooms are spacious and bright with relaxing neutral decor; one king and one double even have cute, cushioned window seats to while away the holiday hours. Idyllic! There’s an additional bathroom on this level with spa bath, shower over bath and WC. Up again to the second floor for the final two twin attic bedrooms in the roof space. There’s stacks of room here despite the sloping ceilings and old feature doors, modern Velux windows and beautiful exposed beams, truss frame and floorboards make these rooms really inviting and they’re cute and exciting for younger members of the family. In between them, the spacious landing has toys, a table and chairs for play, study or just some good old-fashioned quiet time.

This beautiful accommodation sits in its own grounds with a tiered expansive front garden with bench. There’s an enclosed lawned area too. In addition, there’s an al fresco hot tub with breathtaking views, decking with garden furniture for up to ten guests, plus a BBQ area with gas BBQ.

What a stunning location. Even when the clouds are rolling over the hills you don't get bored with the views. More than enough space for two families to holiday together without getting under each others feet. Machynnleth is only 3 minutes drive away with a large Co-op for shopping. Aberwyswyth is a forty minute drive away if you want a larger supeRead morermarket. Perfectly located to access the mid to north west of Wales, Portmeirion is an hour's drive away. We took a beautiful train journey from Machynlleth to Barmouth. John and Annie are wonderful, friendly hosts and the Bara Brith on arrival is gorgeous. There's a lovely little pub in the hamlet of Derwenlas (5 min walk) which serves amazing food. Hide

A lovely house for us, a family party aged from 3 to 66. The house was most comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped with lots of large pots and dishes and plenty of cutlery and crockery. It was good to have car free days and walk or get the bus from nearby into Machynlleth on the busy market day or enjoy the scenery on the way to AberystwytRead moreh. Hide

Although I was informed at all stages by you company, when I called the owners to let us into the property they had no idea that they had a booking? So were not expecting us some of things in the house were not ready for us. Other than that the house itself is like a home from home and the surrounding ares are absolutely stunning.
