This spacious lodge on a beautiful farm is an absolute find for large families or groups of friends in search of a peaceful location where they have enough space to truly relax and unwind or celebrate a special occasion. Set down a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Thursford (1 mile), it’s a great place to enjoy all the peace of country living – while still being within a 7 miles of lively towns like Fakenham and Holt. Spend a wonderful afternoon checking out Thursford’s unique Thursford Collection (0.5 miles) – a fabulous attraction that showcases a whole plethora of vintage fairground rides, mechanical organs and steam engines. Or grab your hiking boots and take a beautiful stroll at Thursford Wood (1 mile), a Medieval wood pasture that’s home to some of the oldest trees in England. Head into the pretty Georgian town of Holt (7 miles) to browse the shops and tearooms in its hidden flint stone yards – they’re just overflowing with charm – or to market town of Fakenham (7 miles) to experience all the thrill of a day at the races at its historic racecourse. Further afield, head to Cromer (17 miles) to enjoy some traditional seaside fun and dine on some delicious Cromer crab.

Step inside this gorgeous lodge and you’ll be immediately impressed by the scale of this spacious property. The open-plan living space consists of a light and bright kitchen/dining area and a welcoming sitting area with doors leading out to the south-facing veranda. Cook up a storm for your loved ones in the stylish kitchen area and get everyone together to eat at the large dining table, before heading to the smart sitting area to chill out in front of the wood burner. On this floor you’ll also find a handy utility room and cloakroom, as well as a chic super-king bedroom with an en-suite wet room. Head up to the first floor and you’ll find three more lovely bedrooms to choose from – two doubles and a twin. One of the doubles has an en-suite shower rooms and French doors that lead out to a beautiful feature balcony. A chic family bathroom completed the first-floor layout.

Outside you’ll find a wonderful lawned garden and patio, so fire up the BBQ and get everyone together to make some memories as you dine alfresco together around the outdoor dining table. New for the Thursford Collection is an incredible children's adventure playground with giant slides and an amazing water play fountain

Foden lodge was the perfect place to celebrate my mums 70th with the family. 8 adults 3 generations, all very comfortable with lots of space to be together but also not on top of each other, and facilities and well equipped kitchen. Large fridge and 2 ovens The garden area is lovely very chilled surrounded by trees and birds. Some say its a bitRead more dark but thats the benefit of being in woodland. The downstairs stairs bathroom and bedroom was perfect for those with mobility issues making the house fully accessible. Lots of parking, would recommend for a family get away. Hide

The barn has lots of outdoor space but as it is surrounded by large trees it can seem a little dark. The kitchen is well stocked and has a utility room is very useful The layout is very comfortable

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the large open plan downstairs was a real plus, the equipment overall very good with the wine chiller a nice addition, we loved the island sink arrangement and the large family dining table. The sitting room area is vast and very sociable, the downstairs bedroom helpful. The outside space usable but a little uneven in pRead morelaces for kids play. Unfortunately we felt the cleanliness and obvious wear and tear of the property let it down, it wasnt evident that the property had been cleaned before our arrival for example the outside seating was covered in bird mess, we had to evict spiders from rooms and kitchen cupboards as well as vacuuming throughout, all of the bathrooms need degrees of maintenance etc etc. A real shame as this distracts from what otherwise should be a stunning holiday home.
