This converted farm building is set on a farm one mile above the small village of Trefeglwys and has great entertainment options for a group of friends or family wanting to spend quality time together. Trefeglwys has a pub serving food, and the market town of Llanidloes, 4 miles north, has more shops and supermarkets. There is excellent walking from the door and mountain bikers can tackle Severn Way and Glyndwr's Way or head to Hafren Forest (12 miles). Llyn Clywedog Reservoir (10 miles) offers water sports, birdwatching and fishing and Rhayader, which has been called the Outdoors Capital of Wales, is 17 miles away.

The spacious hallway features a slate tiled floor and a place to store coats as well as a staircase leading to two of the bedrooms. There’s a cosy lounge downstairs with a TV, three large sofas, an electric stove and French doors out onto the decked patio. On this floor there is a 2nd lounge with a TV, sofas, a dining table and chairs for 8 people and French doors opening out to the parking area. The galley-style kitchen has plenty of storage and there’s a utility room on this level as well as a double bedroom and a fully tiled wetroom. The other bedrooms are on the first floor and comprise of double and twin bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms; the last bedroom is up a separate staircase above the living room and features twin beds, a Juliet balcony and an en-suite bathroom.

Decking to the rear of the property offers countryside views, garden furniture and a BBQ, and a stream running past. Recreational activities shared with the occupants of three other cottages on-site include a tennis court, junior football pitch, children’s adventure playground and a games room with a pool table, darts, air hockey and table tennis.

What a beautiful cottage! The surroundings are exceptional and we went on numerous walks from the cottage. The bedrooms are perfect and beds lovely and comfy. There is plenty of room for everyone without feeling on top of each other - the games room was brilliant.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Owner was so helpful and accommodating. The cottage was extremely well equipped. The stair gates were a real help aswell. 8 of us stayed and there was plenty of room for everyone. Thank you so much, we'll definitely stop again.

We were 4 couples staying at 1 Derw Cottage for 4 nights in September 2023. The property is located right next door to the owners house surrounded by beautiful countryside. The barn conversion is finished to a very high standard and comes complete with all the equipment you might need. We all felt very comfortable in the spacious living and dining Read moreroom. The upstairs bedrooms have a wonderful view. Unfortunately, it rained every day during our stay so we could not use the lovely outdoor space with garden furniture and bbq. We did enjoy the games room very much and even managed to squeeze in a game of tennis in-between the rain. I am happy to recommend The Angle Inn in Llanidloes where we had a very tasty meal and friendly service. The owner, made us feel very welcome and told us about a great little walk on her farm with a spectacular view from the top of the hill. We all had a wonderful time and I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a few quiet and relaxing days in the countryside. Hide

Superb holiday accommodation. The cottage is very well equipped with welcome drinks and snack provided on arrival. The games room has table football, table tennis and pool and there is a tennis court. The views from the property are stunning and the owner Helen is kind and helpful. We cannot fault it and would highly recommend.

The property description stated that it had wif-fi, but on arrival, we found that the house information booklet stated that the wi-fi capacity is limited. Our expectations would have been set right if this was made clear in the home description (as it is in some other descriptions: 'Wi-fi, but restricted download available').
