The local area has plenty of walks and trails for all abilities and ages to experience the nature and wildlife of the local landscapes, including Skipwith Common (19 miles) and North Cave Wetlands (10 miles). It is hard not to be drawn to explore the historic city of York (15 miles), with its iconic York Minster and the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre. Alternatively, if you prefer to make a splash, then Allerthorpe Lakeland Park is a must-visit for kayaking, paddleboarding and a tricky aqua park course.

We booked as a family of 10, 6 adults and 4 children to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. The photos dont prepare you for the wow factor when you walk through the door! We had a fantastic stay over the Christmas period. The owners really went above and beyond with baskets of treats for the adults, sweets for the kids and decorations everywhere. The house and grounds were more than big enough for a party of 12 with two dogs. Absolutely amazing place. Was greeted on arrival and showed around the house, they left some treats for us as well. The place was lovely and clean and decorated with numerous Christmas decorations which made it feel so homely. All of the bedrooms were a delight and the mattresses so comfy. The garage has been done out to look absolutely amazing, anRead mored was great for us all to have a drink in. Beautiful property, we all had a great time visiting. Definitely recommend the owners were welcoming and treated us with sweets for the kiddies, treats for the dogs, and wine (so made a great first impression) the house is beautiful inside & out

We really enjoyed our stay at Holly Tree Farm. It is a well presented large rural house with a large hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable. Some areas (e.g. upstairs shower/bathroom) could do with an update but we otherwise couldn't fault our stay. Is down a farm track so feels remote but there is a nice Chinese restauranRead moret within 10 mins walking distance and the local small town is around a 10 min drive away. Easy, friendly communication with the owners. We'll be back! Hide
