Just half a mile from the historic market town of Broughton-in-Furness, this delightful traditional cottage has been sympathetically updated to make a fantastic holiday home for larger families and groups of friends exploring a beautiful part of Cumbria. Situated along the southern border of the Lake District National Park, the property is within easy reach of Windermere and Coniston Water, making a great base for keen walkers, nature lovers, hikers and water sports fans. Offering cosy and relaxing accommodation for up to nine guests across five cheerful bedrooms, this tastefully furnished getaway features exposed timber beams and brickwork, stone tiling, window seats and a roaring wood burner, providing a cosy hideaway for guests discovering the region’s magnificent lakes, glorious countryside and sparkling coastline.

Entering the property via the sweet farmhouse-style door you will find yourself in the beautiful country kitchen with low wooden beams, a stylish central dining table and plenty of equipment and storage space so you can prepare family feasts. The hallway leads through to the main lounge, with plush seating, a wood burner and Smart TV. This is a lovely space to unwind in, and features a handy mezzanine study where you can catch up with some work or a good book. At the far end of the cottage there’s a peaceful snug with a second wood burner and a useful birdwatching bench. The ground floor also has a friendly dining area and the first bedroom: a king-size room with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, a secret doorway leads through to a charming king-size bedroom. This floor also features three further bedrooms: a delightful twin, a second king-size room and a cosy single, along with an invigorating bathroom and a family shower room. Most of the ground-floor rooms lead out into the surrounding landscaped gardens, with a decked and furnished patio making a lovely spot for a glass or two of wine at the end of an unforgettable day.

Beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped house and very dog friendly. Weve rented many properties over the years but this is the first time weve experienced a welcome pack for our dog not just the humans. Much appreciated! Bedrooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. The house, despite its size, was warm, cosy and homely catering for all agesRead more. We would love to return in better weather to spend time in the beautiful garden. Hide
