Ideally located for the outdoor activities and family attractions of the Lake District, this atmospheric farmhouse offers all kinds of original features and some gorgeous antique furnishings. It’s a great choice for a multi-generational family holiday, and welcomes your four-pawed friends, too. Six bedrooms sleep 14 people, including a family room boasting a games area that children will love, and there’s a ground-floor double bedroom with an en-suite shower room that could be perfect for older members of your group. After a day on the fells you can walk to the village pub, relax in the enclosed garden while children and pets play safely, or sit around the crackling wood burner and enjoy a board game or a favourite movie.

After you’ve parked on the gravel drive, which has plenty of space for four cars, take the time to admire the fabulous vistas across the fells. In the lobby, beautiful wood panelling hints at the traditional decor inside. Pull off your boots and enter the lounge/diner, where old beams and a huge stone fireplace make a dramatic impression. This is the space where you can gather together and relish spending precious time with your loved ones, dining at the polished wooden table and then sinking into the comfortable seating that accommodates nine people. The spacious kitchen and utility room, reached via a slight slope, contain everything necessary for cooking for a group and keeping on top of laundry. No need to stress about muddy clothes! The upstairs bedrooms - two king-size, two doubles and a room with two bunk beds that leads off one of the king-size rooms - share a shower room and a bathroom (the latter has a separate bath and shower), also on the first floor. The rear garden, where there are steps between levels, includes a patio with outdoor furniture as well as a raised deck with a dining table, offering a choice of spots in which to enjoy a leisurely tipple or an al fresco meal.

Really clean, well equipped with excellent outdoor areas. Good location, it was every thing we hoped for, the child in our party was delighted with the bunk/games room, a wonderful facility for children.

Super house for our group of 12. The dining table and sofas are in the same room, so it didn't matter that there were limited armchairs, as the dining chairs were close by. We really enjoyed our weekend here. 7 adults, 4 children, & our dog. It was an ideal location and close enough to travel into Grasmere for the day.

Property was comfortable and in a great location to explore the Lake district (however, it is up a very steep hill, which is a difficult climb back from the pub!)
