Escape to the country and step through hundreds of years of history at this stunning period getaway dating back to the 1800s, surrounded by the excellent walking country of Exmoor National Park and 1 acre of private land. Sleeping eight guests across four soothing and serene bedrooms, this is the ultimate retreat for those looking to discover the countryside and coastline that make North Devon so irresistible.

After exploring your local surroundings, finish off the day in the light and bright conservatory games room whilst younger children retreat to the separate playroom with a doll's house and a vintage table arcade machine to let off some steam. Grab all your local produce and head into the rustic farmhouse-style kitchen to whip up a delicious feast to feed the crowd seated around the generous dining table in the dining room, with an exposed brick fireplace that sets the true warming and homely atmosphere. With full tummies, follow the soft cracks of the roaring wood burner into the cosy lounge to unwind weary walking muscles on the comfortable sofa and enjoy the ultimate family film night in front of the Smart TV. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, you have one king-size, one en-suite double, one twin and one bunk bedroom upstairs to choose between for a peaceful rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Soak up your fabulous countryside surroundings from the comfort of the sheltered hot tub with something chilled or by watching the children play on the three-tower children’s play area on the grassy lawn that canine companions will have a blast sniffing around.

The unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland makes Exmoor National Park completely irresistible to anyone looking to leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life and uncover the natural beauty of North Devon. Lose yourself in rural living at the small sleepy village of Parracombe just over a mile away and delve deeper into the heart of Devon’s countryside by weaving around the village, through scenic lanes and footpaths. Step through history aboard a steam engine from Woody Bay station 2.5 miles away, for a gentle ride along the Lynton and Barnstaple narrow-gauge railway to be rewarded with wonderful panoramic countryside views across the valley. Well known for its goats that roam freely on the cliff-tops, pack a picnic for a day trip to the beauty spot of Valley of Rocks (7.5 miles) before joining the coast path to the charming villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, both 6.5 miles away; a trip incomplete without a ride on the water-powered cliff railway.
