You’ll be hard pushed to find a more charming property than this unique folly. Sleeping nine in four bedrooms, it possesses character and comfort in equal measure. Towers and castellations set the scene for a genuine feeling of getting away from it all, whether you’re a large family or a group of friends celebrating a special occasion. Inside it’s all art, intriguing antiques, eclectic furnishings and lovely textiles, while outside there’s a walled garden with a long dining table and a six-person hot tub. It’s set in the tranquil Norfolk village of Ingoldisthorpe, surrounded by delightful countryside and yet only 5.5 miles from the golden sands and attractions of Hunstanton.

Dating back to the 18th century, the cottage is a beautifully decorated home from home with all kinds of delightful period features. Perhaps its most striking feature, though, is the double-height lounge, where comfortable seating mingles with books, paintings and ornaments. A welcoming place in which to chat, read or simply snuggle up after a day exploring, it also boasts a Smart TV and a DVD for nights when you want to watch a movie or a favourite series. An archway leads through to the kitchen/diner, a bright and spacious room where the cook will find all the equipment they need for creating quick snacks or adventurous suppers, and you can all sit around the farmhouse-style table, catching up on the day’s events. Three of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor, including the opulent super-king-size room, which has an en-suite WC and a free-standing bath at the foot of the bed. Pour a glass of bubbly and indulge. The family shower room is also on this floor, sharing space with the washing machine and tumble dryer. The final bedroom, a pretty double, is situated on the first floor (the old hayloft) and offers privacy and views of the garden. The extensive grounds of this fabulous holiday destination are just as magical as its interior, and include a generous lawn, mature trees and shrubs, and even topiary. There’s an area with comfortable seating for al fresco relaxation, a choice of two dining tables, a hot tub and the option to bring out a folding table tennis table.

Magical place to stay. Possibly much more character inside than the photos can show with many interesting and beautiful works of art on show. Extensive gardens to explore - wonderful for dog and grandchildren. Particularly loved the secret garden-like 'Dell' behind the Folly.
