A striking stone building steeped in history, boasting a stretch of lush lawn and hazy mountain vistas across the Lake District. With social spaces aplenty, this country abode hosts up to ten guests across five en-suite bedrooms, plus room for a couple of tufty-pawed companions. Extended families and groups of old friends will delight in retreating to this country escape. Kit up for an afternoon of sporting fun on the rippling waters of Bassenthwaite Lake (12 miles). Back at base, grab the bubbly and catch the last of the sunny rays as you celebrate with an al fresco family feast on the patio.

This enchanting property marries traditional charm and contemporary elegance. Enjoy striking exposed stone walls, high-vaulted beamed ceilings, warm earthy tones, and plush soft furnishings. Returning from a day in the hills, ease out of muddy boots and hang outdoor gear in the airy utility space. Step into the kitchen and raid the shaker cabinets for some nibbles, then rustle up some drinks for the pack. Perch at the breakfast bar and chat over a brew while you plan out the perfect Lake District itinerary. Mark a special occasion in style with a formal feast in the decadent dining space, adorned with a glistening chandelier and high-backed chairs. After desserts have been scoffed, throw open the glass-panelled double doors and retire to the exquisite lounge. While away evenings together in the heart of the home, complete with sprawling sofas, cosy armchairs, and a double-height ceiling. Whip out the board games or kick back with a film on the Smart TV. As night falls, find three stylish en-suite bedrooms or ascend the staircase to find another two en-suite kings with characterful low beams. Soak in sunny mornings from the enclosed garden or reminiscence beneath the night sky with a glass of vino or two. Guests can also enjoy five private parking spaces.

A large and spacious property that accomodated 8 of us well. We had an issue on arrival as it had been double booked which led to a stressful situation with another goup who had booked it! Good facilties and well equipped kitchen. Great oven. Nice dining area. Bedrooms spacious.

Gorgeous accommodation and views. Away from civilisation. Lots of space both inside and outside. The Sun Inn and The Peasant are great for food and drink. Not within walking distance for those with mobility issues. The Castle Inn is in walking distance however lacks atmosphere and they don't like walkins.
