Meare is home to the ancient monastic Meare Fish House and has a variety of great places to eat and drink. The village lies along the edge of the Avalon Marshes, with the Ham Wall Nature Reserve (1.5 miles), offering plenty of chances to spot bitterns, egrets, otters, water voles and marsh harriers. Glastonbury (4 miles) has plenty of quirky shops, friendly pubs and historic sites including the abbey, Glastonbury Tor and the Chalice Well Gardens. Other local attractions include Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole and the popular seaside resort of Burnham-on-Sea, all within 13 miles.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Millbank Farm Birchwood. The accommodation was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The hospitality shown was fantastic. The hot tub was maintained every day by the farm manager. A lovely quiet location. We will definitely look up this house when returning to that area again. Thank you again

Great location, plenty to do in surrounding area but very peaceful place to return to. Nice big open plan downstairs space and good flat garden, not overlooked. Hot tub well maintained and cleaned daily. Some minor changes such as somewhere to hang coats, provision of hand towels, some basic kitchen equipment would make it 5*

Lovely house, very comfortable and lots of space for a family holiday. Great location for Glastonbury, Cheddar, Weston super Mare, Burnham on Sea. Phone signal poor but good WiFi. Only parking for two cars at the rear of property. Extra cars need to be parked at the B&B at the front of the close

A great holiday home for a family get away! All generations enjoyed use of the spacious hot tub and garden, especially in the lovely weather we had. Everything you could need provided in the kitchen if you choose to eat in the cottage. Bedrooms spacious with comfortable beds and lovely big baths and showers. A great time away.
