This beautiful stone house, sitting within its own spacious grounds in Old Church Stoke on the Wales-Shropshire border in stunning Mid Wales countryside makes a special place to stay and spend time together. It has space for eight guests across four bedrooms, two furry family members are welcome too, and there’s bags of space for everyone to enjoy outside in the enclosed garden, with huge lawns and a lovely seating area. You’ll find a BBQ, fire pit and pizza oven for al fresco dining and evenings under the stars, and inside is a very well-appointed kitchen that makes cooking a breeze. There’s a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV for chilly/chilled enjoying evenings in the snug, and a games room in the separate annex which has a pool table, a darts board and table football the young and young at heart will love. Your canine companions are taken care of too, with dog towels, a large crate, and spare bedding.

The stunning rural retreat has been renovated to a high standard, with gorgeous interiors and creature comforts. Gather in the open-plan living space, perfect a group with a contemporary kitchen with modern appliances and a large breakfast bar for cocktails in the evening or coffees the morning after. Enjoy a glass of bubbly and relax in the snug with the wood burner roaring, watch the Smart TV, where bi-fold doors take you out to the garden. Having cooked a celebratory feast, devour it in the pretty dining area, with panoramic garden views. There’s a handy WC and a utility room downstairs and upstairs are the four stunning bedrooms, two kings and two flexible kings/twins. The Master has a Juliette balcony and en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower, there’s also a family shower room. Whether it’s peace or parties you’re after, you can have both here. The garden has incredible views, a BBQ and firepit for al fresco celebrations. Head out on gorgeous walks to explore the neighbouring fields and woodland which surround the house, also well-placed for a spot of birdwatching so take your binoculars with you! Wander to the Roundton Nature Reserve (1 mile away) where there’s a Bronze Age fort site and stunning views. There are local amenities 2 miles away and a farmers’ market at Montgomery (6 miles), as well as a range of restaurants and cafes. You can arrange fishing and horse riding locally and try the thrilling national mountain biking routes and trails (10 miles).

The cottage was beautiful and in a stunning location, although you have to be careful of tractors on tiny roads. There was some confusion about the bins as only the recycling was collected and not the main bin. The games room was well used over the week with us playing darts, pool and table football, and the toddler liked the lego bricks. An excellent place to stay. Remote, surrounded by hills, quiet, with walks all around you. Somehow we threaded the needle of the current awful British weather and were able to enjoy a few nights outside with a fire and stare up at the stars. Great stuff. We had a wonderful stay at The Hollies. It is a stunning spacious home in a beautiful location, walking distance to a nature reserve and only a quick drive to a local supermarket. We loved how well equipped the kitchen was. Emma was a great host, who was quick to respond to any questions we had. The games room was a massive hit.

Had an amazing time at The Hollies with iyf family.. With a Tesco delivery on our first night,there was really nice need to go any further! Walks right from the doorstep and the view from the sofa in the dining/living area was breathtaking. Emma was a super host and nothing too much trouble. The Hollies is a perfectly relaxing getaway; the house has such a homely feel, and you can spend hours in the gardens just taking in the scenery. It's one of those gems that actually exceeds expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We had a fabulous family weekend at The Hollies. Emmas hospitality was great and the house is fantastic, with everything you could possibly need and superb for our family group of 8 adults and two dogs. Absolutely stunning place . The cottage itself was of a very high standard and decorating beautifully . We didnt actually meet Emma as she was unwell but we kept in touch through text and she was on hand if we needed anything explaining . What a hidden gem! The house is in a beautiful location and easy to find. Very comfortable beds and the house had everything we needed for a fantastic weeks stay.
