This stylish and generous getaway sits on the edge of the North Devon Heritage Coast, a blissful base from which to explore the charming towns and gloriously sandy beaches that make this stretch of coastline so irresistible. If your party of 12 can tear themselves away from the large, enclosed garden, games room, hot tub and stunning outdoor terrace, there’s a plethora of scenic walks from the doorstep that’ll lead you deeper into the Devon countryside. This is the ultimate retreat for that extra special occasion.

Drop your walking boots in the entrance hall and head to the heart of the home; the two cosy lounges. Offering a wood burner, a flame-effect electric fire and a baby grand piano between them, these social spaces boast a true warmth that invites the whole gang to unwind on the comfy sofas in front of the Smart TVs. When hungry tummies rumble, head into the kitchen to get creative with your local produce whilst your party keeps you company seated at the breakfast bar. The grand dining hall with sublime countryside views and a retro bar is the perfect spot to make unforgettable memories whilst enjoying your home-cooked feast. The ground floor offers an en-suite super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom, with the further three en-suite king-size, one en-suite double and one en-suite twin bedrooms accessed by either of the two staircases that lead to the impressive galleried landing overlooking the dining hall. If you’ve still got plenty of energy left, head to the former stable block which has been converted to a games room. Admire glorious sunsets by dining alfresco on the terrace or sipping something chilled from the comfort of the hot tub whilst children and tufty-pawed pals explore the enclosed lawn.

Ravensfield House offered us very comfortable accommodation, with excellent facilities for all ages, a well equipped kitchen and games room. When a couple of minor issues with the property were raised with the owner they were resolved promptly and without issue. Pizzas from the takeaway van at Clovelly roundabout were delicious. The only (slight) nRead moreegative was the location which meant there was a little travelling to sightsee, but some groups may be more occupied locally. Highly recommended! Hide
