A favourite among lovers of fine food and drinks, Crieff is just 3 miles away and offers a lovely selection of independent shops and restaurants. Follow one of the signposted walks that run all around the town, or explore Glen Turret which runs up into the hills behind; in its lower part is Glenturret Distillery – the oldest legal distillery in Scotland – which offers tours and tastings. Visit Crieff Hydro for outdoor activities including a treetop high-wire course and segway adventure before enjoying a pamper in the health spa. If you’re keen to have a Munro in your bag of holiday souvenirs, Ben Chonzie in Crieff is considered good for all abilities, and if there are any serious golfers in your group they’ll be spoilt for choice – numerous courses are close by, including the legendary Gleneagles, just 7.5 miles away. 17 miles west, Loch Earn is home to a watersports centre where you can try your hand at multiple activities ranging from waterskiing and wakeboarding to kayaking and paddleboarding. To the south of the loch, 985m-high Ben Vorlich is a must-do if you’re up for a serious hike – the views from the top of the water and surrounding national park are stunning.

A lovely house in a beautiful part of Scotland, and ideally placed for visiting places of interest within reasonable travelling distance. Good range of shops and cafes nearby in Crieff. The castle gardens must be magnificent when in full bloom during the summer. Lots of nice walks within the estate grounds.

A beautiful property with all you could wish for, from the cutlery to the furnishings everything is of the highest standard and the setting is superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending Thornhill House to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to recharge their batteries.

Absolutely stunning accommodation, surroundings are just perfect and tranquil. This really is an amazing place with top quality accommodation, interior and design. Really lovely house, done up to an excellent standard. Very special location, with free access to the castle and gardens as part of the stay which was such a treat. And very friendly staff there. We had a visitor at the kitchen window most days of a cheeky peacock apparently called Hector, which was great fun for the kids! Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend Lovely quiet spot plenty of wildlife which the kids enjoyed Had to keep an eye on kids at front due to small amount of traffic. But like I said what a great house to stay at.

I would highly recommend this beautiful property. The house itself has everything you would require for a luxurious break. All furnishings are beautiful and comfortable and the kitchen has every amenity. The countryside is truly wonderful and being only a short walk to the breathtaking Drummond castle garden is a true bonus. Our little dachshund paRead morerticularly loved the woodland walk. Hide
