Unwind in nature with a retreat to this beautiful stone cottage perched above the River Dee and boasting sweeping woodland views, 3 miles from the pretty town of Llangollen. This secluded bolthole is perfect for a special reunion with friends or a celebratory family getaway with the dogs, sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms. Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and inhale the crisp country with a group trek to the crumbling medieval ruins of Castell Dinas Bran (4.5 miles), before unwinding with a sparkling aperitif and nibbles on the deck and basking in the golden glow of the setting sun.

This characterful rural oasis features an inviting rustic interior. Imagine sloped wooden beams, original stone fireplaces, a roaring wood burner and soft country furnishings. After a day of adventuring, slide off hiking boots and unravel woolly hats and scarves in the sunroom then freshen up with an invigorating shower. Raid the fridge for a round of ice-cold beers in the bright shaker kitchen then whip up indulgent nibbles for the hungry gang. Toast with a glass of something special then settle in for a grand feast in the dining room beneath the beamed ceiling. With a sweet treat or evening tipple in hand, be beckoned into the lounge by the ambient heat of the flickering wood burner. Kick up weary feet on the soft sofas and whip out the board games or fire up the Smart TV for some evening entertainment. Sink into the sleek freestanding tub for an evening soak then rest up for the next day’s adventures in one of the four well-presented bedrooms. There is also a separate WC to avoid any morning queues. Tuck into a morning spread on the deck or get sizzling on the BBQ on the lawn. Saunter down the path and stroll along the banks of River Dee where keen fishers can also throw a line. Settle in for a soak beneath the stars in the wood-burning hot tub (installation date for Easter 2023).

Great location in the Dee Valley. Comfortable cottage and nice to have amenities such as the hot tub. We would have liked more instructions for the hot tub and it would be nice to have a better supply of wood for no additional cost. Wood bucket price was very high.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a stunning location above the Dee, two large terraces both with covered areas if required and we loved relaxing in the hot tub then retreating inside to sit by the wood burner. Also a large garden down to the river which was great for the dogs to have a snuffle and imagine it will be glorious in summer.
