This charming country cottage offers the perfect space for family and friends; it is beautifully furnished, and set deep in the Gloucestershire countryside. The peaceful hamlet of Awre sits close to the banks of the River Severn, where guests can enjoy well-waymarked paths from the front door. It is situated 8 miles from the heart of the Forest of Dean, an area steeped in history and natural beauty, and offering plenty to see and do. Hire bikes from Cannop Cycle Centre (9 miles) to explore the forest, enjoy paddleboarding at Mallards Pike (6 miles) or test your head for heights at Go Ape (6 miles). Kayaking and climbing can be found at Symonds Yat Rock (14 miles), along with pony trekking. Step back in time with a visit to the Dean Heritage Centre (5 miles), go underground at Clearwell Caves (10 miles), or head to Puzzlewood to discover an ancient woodland with a twist (10 miles).

Set within its own private gardens, this charming cottage offers a warm welcome to all that come and stay. Access to the cottage is to the rear and up a couple of steps. From here, guests will have space to leave muddy boots and coats. The cottage has been lovingly restored, offering many original features, some of which will take you by surprise along the way. The ground floor offers an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with exposed beams. There is a large table and chairs for eight that’s great for celebrations, and across the way is a beautifully finished lounge with large sofas for relaxing along with a Smart TV and DVD. French doors open onto the gardens which are perfect for the summertime. The contemporary kitchen offers everything you would need for preparing meals throughout your stay and opens into an oak-framed garden room overlooking the gardens, perfect for lazy afternoons and afternoon tea. The ground floor also has a utility room and shower room. The first floor offers guests the choice of four bedrooms, all finished with luxury bed linens and soft towels: a super-king-size, king-size, double and twin room. And to complete the accommodation is a generously sized family bathroom.

Outside, the cottage is surrounded by established enclosed gardens, a mature fruit orchard and a wild meadow. There is a patio area with a private hot tub where guests can soak after a day exploring, and a detached games room with table tennis and table football, along with a covered terrace with seating.

We had a wonderful weekend at Severn View Farm . It's a beautiful quiet location with countryside views. Sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset was bliss.
