This delightful home in the heart of Appledore, North Devon, sleeps ten people across five bedrooms. Featuring a games room, nursery, large garden, and plenty of sociable spaces it’s a great choice for a family reunion or gathering of friends with young children. It’s also well-located for those who want to be explore the Devonshire coastline while being close to all amenities and the beach at Westward Ho! (2 miles).

Beautifully appointed, inside the rooms are furnished with style and flair. Velux windows and bi-fold doors drench the living areas and bedrooms in natural light while cream tones create a relaxed ambience. The open-plan living area is a classy affair with its whitewashed walls, sea views, and cosy wood burner. The perfect space for socialising, relaxing, cooking and dining, large bi-fold doors lead to a stylish terrace and stunning sea views beyond. From the living area, a staircase leads to a spacious snug room. Built into the eaves, it’s a comfortable space where you can relax on the sofa with your favourite film or simply enjoy some quiet time soaking up the stunning panoramic sea views. Back on the ground floor step through to the garage where you’ll find a space dedicated to entertainment. Choose between racking up balls on the pool table or trying your hand at a game of darts. Also on this floor, you’ll find three light-filled bedrooms featuring a king-size bed, double bed, and twin bed. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and feature brilliant white walls, delicate chandelier lighting, and sea or garden-facing views. There’s also a family bathroom on this floor. Soothing tones sweep from the ground floor to the first floor where two further bedrooms are located. In the super-king-size bedroom the space is endless with sumptuous furnishings, a delightful en-suite bathroom, and steps leading through to a lovely nursery with a play area and cot. The final bedroom features an equally impressive king-size bed and en-suite shower room.
Back on ground level, a delightful outdoor area boasts a tiered garden, patio, and decking area with plenty of comfy furniture. Sit and chat with family and friends or dine al fresco. Alternatively, simply sit and absorb the peaceful surroundings while watching the children run free on the expansive lawn. There’s off-road parking for four cars although all amenities are within walking distance. It’s 0.5 miles to the quaint village of Appledore with its shops, restaurants, and bars and just 2.5 miles to the sandy beach at Westward Ho!

Appledore is a working fishing village and the whole family can enjoy strolling through the historic streets, browsing the local shops, and stopping for an ice-cream or some fresh fish at the harbour. If you’re interested in maritime history be sure to also stop at the North Devon Maritime museum. But for a great day out, head to the quay and jump on a ferry to Instow. It’s a five-minute crossing and in Instow you can head to the small beach and paddle in the sea, fly kites, or build sandcastles. Afterwards stop for a coffee and a bite to eat at the waterfront. The popular Tarka Trail runs through Instow and young and old can enjoy this traffic-free trail on foot or bicycle. Alternatively, head 2.5 miles from the property to Westward Ho! Beach. It’s a good spot for a walk along the golden sands and a swim in the sea. The more energetic can even try their hand at surfing or kite surfing. Keen golfers can also enjoy a round at the 18-hole golf course located behind the beach while walkers can explore the Northam Burrows Country Park where you’ll see sheep and horses grazing freely. While here you can jump on the South West Coast Path and walk to Greysands Beach (1 mile). It’s a peaceful spot and children can run along the sand and enjoy rock pooling. From here, it’s a scenic 2-mile walk back to Appledore.

Three generations of our family stayed and enjoyed Bay Ridge. Amazing house, plenty of space (and storage) for everyone, well equipped, fabulous views and great location. Weve stayed in many holiday rentals advertised as great for larger groups - this is the best weve experienced and difficult to imagine it being beaten in the future.

We had an exceptional stay at this holiday let! The breathtaking views from the house added a magical touch to our experience. The bathrooms were luxurious, and the well-equipped kitchen made cooking a delight. A perfect blend of comfort and scenic beauty, earning it a solid 5 stars!

Fabulous property to celebrate my 60th Birthday at with family &friends. Wendy at Dartmoor Dining is an amazing private chef &another evening Candlelight Murder Mystery provided great entertainment. Northam Burrows &Instow beach/coast path were great for dog walking. Loved live music at Beaver/Champ. Hired bikes in Bideford &cycled 9 miles to BarnsRead moretaple &back on old railway line - great cake stop at Fremington. Food ok at Royal George/Beaver/Seagate. Sunday lunch fab at Thatched Inn Abbotsham Hide

Fantastic property, absolutely child friendly with stair gates, hire chair, play room. Would suit anyone with mobility problems (few stairs leading up to the front door) as downstairs bedrooms with on-suite are leading off the lounge/kitchen diner, so everything on the same level with a huge patio area. Absolutely fantastic accommodation, very well equipped, couldnt have asked for better. The views are amazing, very relaxing to sit in the TV room and look out or at the top of the garden. Loved the surprise leading up to the TV room. Furnishings and decor are 2nd to none, best we have ever stayed at. Appledore is lovely, can definately recommend ThRead moree Royal George, The Beaver and The Seagate all do lovely food and take dogs.
