Just half a mile from the coast, this large, detached holiday retreat offers bright and spacious accommodation for larger families and groups of friends seeking a secluded and relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of Northumberland. Providing ample space for up to ten guests, the property lies on the outskirts of the bustling seaside village of Seahouses and makes a great base for keen walkers, cyclists and nature lovers discovering the region’s beautiful beaches, quaint resorts and historic castles. With a pretty garden, spacious living areas and five cosy bedrooms, this inviting hideaway is within easy reach of Bamburgh and Beadnell, with plenty of opportunities nearby for activities including golf, boat trips, bird watching and water sports.

Entering the property, you can leave muddy boots in the hallway before heading through to the spacious lounge. This airy room has two seating areas, perfect for sitting back in front of the wood burner and watching a movie, or for curling up with a good book and chatting into the night. Glazed doors lead through to the light-filled kitchen/diner which offers ample space for preparing and sharing a family feast. The first of the property’s five charming bedrooms is on the ground floor: a relaxing double room with a dressing table. The ground floor also has a handy utility room and a door leading through to the garage which has plenty of space for storing bikes and surfboards. Upstairs, you will find a refreshing family bathroom with a step leading up to an impressive freestanding bath. The four remaining light and cosy bedrooms are also upstairs: two cheerful twin rooms, a generous king-size room and a tranquil super-king-size room with its own en-suite shower room. Outside, the enclosed back garden is divided by a wooden archway into two areas. At one end, there’s a pretty patio area with plenty of seating and a BBQ, providing a charming space for dining alfresco. Further outdoor furniture can be found at the other end, making a lovely spot for a morning coffee, or for watching birds visit the garden and for stargazing after nightfall.

There were a number of cobwebs around the place. My daughter has arachnophobia and had to go around with her hoover when we arrived. Behind the bath was filthy. Would not normally have looked behind the bath, but my granddaughter dropped the plug behind the bath and I had to fish it out.

We had 3 couples, 2 singles & 2 dogs. The space worked well throughout. The garden is fully enclosed & private, we had the doors open for the dogs to play with no worries. It backs on to a road so you hear some light traffic but not bad. Quiet at night. Nice estate. All rooms were nice sizes. Kitchen had everything needed. We used the big garage spRead moreace for 2 motorbikes. Only issue was the bin was full when we arrived but the owners offered to sort immediately. Short walk to fab beach. Loved it! Hide

Sunshine House is excellent value for money, very comfortable and well equipped for a large number of people. Plenty of toys for children, sofas to lounge about on and in a great location, a short walk from the beach. Comfortable beds, too. Very welcoming. We had a terrific week.
