Surrounded by acres of breathtaking countryside, this lovely cottage makes a fantastic getaway for up to eight guests enjoying a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight. Providing cosy, light and stylish holiday accommodation for larger families and groups of friends, this cheery retreat is set within the grounds of a working farm and riding school. Offering horse-riding activities on-site, there’s also space for you to bring your own horses to discover the beautiful landscapes of this delightful island. Just 2 miles from the thriving town of Newport, this lovely getaway enjoys a peaceful location, perfect for keen walkers, horse riders and cyclists exploring the whole of the island.

Approaching the property beneath a striking archway, you will find the cottage in a cute and tranquil courtyard. Entering this bright and welcoming retreat, a small reception hall leads you through to the tastefully furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This is a lovely space to get together and unwind, with a Smart TV and plenty of seating providing a perfect spot to sit back and watch a favourite movie at the end of a fantastic day. There’s also a sweet dining area and a kitchen with a full array of useful equipment. The ground floor also features the first of the property’s bedrooms: a bright and spacious king-size room along with a separate wet room. There are three further bedrooms upstairs: two light and airy twin rooms and a stylish king-size room with a Smart TV and en-suite shower room. The accommodation is rounded off with a family bathroom. Stepping outside, the enclosed patio garden to the back has outdoor furniture and makes a charming spot for dining alfresco on a warm summer’s evening. There’s also an additional shared garden out to the front.

The farm and riding school offer plenty to do, with a children’s play area and chances to meet the sheep, pigs and horses in the surrounding paddocks. Newport (2.5 miles) has plenty of great pubs and restaurants, or you could head to the popular beach at Ryde (6 miles) for a day by the sea. Local landmarks and attractions include the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Butterfly World, Monkey Haven (all within 3 miles), as well as Carisbrook Castle, Wight Military and Heritage Museum and Queen Victoria’s former home at Osborne (all within 5 miles). The bustling harbour of Cowes is to the north (7 miles), home of the famous Cowes Week regatta.

Excellent location Spacious with good downstairs facilities for those less able The property is in need of some TLC and could have been cleaner on our arrival

Did our gang of 3 generations (ages 5 to 74) very nicely. Location is excellent and having a restaurant on-site for a latish arrival was really good news. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful.
