Full of original character and contemporary styling throughout its well-appointed rooms, en-suite facilities and modern conveniences, there is something for everyone here.

Fresh, bright and full of atmosphere, the renovated barn is a hive of activity throughout the year. The ground floor is home to the family bathroom and four bedrooms, all of which can be found off the main hallway. The en-suite king-size bedroom is found to the right, while a bunk bedroom, ideal for younger guests, is found farther down. A super-king bedroom and an en-suite double bedroom stand nearby. The exposed stone wall and high, pitched ceilings with exposed beams catch the eye in the stunning lounge/kitchen/diner; it’s an open-plan area that is the central hub of activity, from lazy summer brunches around the grand dining table at its centre to autumn evenings snuggled up the wood burner. The shared patio space and outdoor play area are ideal places to get to know your neighbours, while the BBQ and pizza oven, sure to see a lot of use during warmer months, are only a few metres away.

Lovers of Dame Agatha Christie’s crime novels need only walk 2 miles across the countryside before arriving at the author’s former home, Greenway House, close to the banks of the River Dart. There are two beaches at Hope Cove (within 1 mile), great for paddling, sandcastle building and fossil hunting. The cove links to the South West Coast Path, which offers a new perspective of the coast both on foot and via bicycle. The glittering estuary at Salcombe (4 miles) is a sight to behold, whether from the water or off its charming harbour. The quieter Thurlestone Sands (5 miles) is made up of two beaches and is perfect for water sports, sunbathing and sandcastle building.

Marvellous holiday. The Mill House has everything a family could possibly need, is spotlessly clean and in a peaceful location. Great walks, brilliant beaches nearby and a lovely unexpected welcome surprise too. Our break was over too soon!
