Surrounded by magnificent scenery, this stunning 12th-century retreat has now been lovingly updated and sympathetically converted to make a fabulous holiday base for guests seeking a unique getaway in an unforgettable part of Scotland. Offering welcoming accommodation for up to ten guests across five beautifully decorated bedrooms, this enchanting castle occupies several buildings and features a fabulous array of tapestries, wood panelling, beamed ceilings, exposed stonework, antique furniture, four-poster beds, a roaring open fire, a roll-top bath, and a lovely private hot tub all set in a gorgeous garden with lovely grounds to explore. Ideal for larger families and groups of friends seeking a memorable hideaway, the property also has a sumptuous banquet hall which you can book with the owners for a fantastic feast.

Entering this historic property, the impressive wood-panelled hallway has a resident knight in attendance and takes you up a wooden staircase to the first-floor drawing room with a huge fireplace, roaring open fire and ornate decor. The property offers a beautiful dining room and a stylish kitchen, perfect for enjoying a range of family meals. A stone spiral staircase takes you up to the first three bedrooms. First, you will encounter a charming bathroom and a stunning king-size room with a four-poster bed. This room is believed to have once hosted Mary Queen of Scots. A further double room with a four-poster bed is on the second floor, with a cheerful double room on the top floor. There are two further king-size bedrooms, both beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, which are accessed externally. The final building is across the courtyard, with a fabulous banqueting hall with a fire, beamed ceiling and stone walls, and a commercial-style kitchen. This can be booked separately with the owners so you can enjoy a magnificent special occasion in style. Outside, there are seating areas in the courtyard overlooking the garden, providing a lovely space for a morning coffee or for dining alfresco. The private hot tub also overlooks the garden so you can enjoy a relaxing soak at the end of a great day. You can explore the grounds with its lawns, sunken gardens and riverside walks.
