Stay in a homely and comfortable cottage in the Scottish Highlands with views over the seaside town of Oban – also known as the seafood capital of Scotland. The property’s location is ideal for a group of friends or family who enjoy spending time surrounded by nature but also want the convenience of nearby amenities. Sleeping up to eight guests, there are four bedrooms and an enclosed garden. Socialise with your loved ones in the cosy lounge in front of the crackling wood burner. During the daytime, visit a nearby castle or enjoy a stroll around a loch. If you’re up for a real adventure, you could even catch a ferry over to the windswept Isle of Kerrera (3.5 miles). Or head north to discover numerous beaches with pale sands and crystal-clear water and places of historic interest – like the McCaig’s Tower (1 mile) and Ganavan Maze (3 miles).

Step inside the property and find yourself on the landing which takes you through to the open-plan lounge/diner. This space is bright and homely with far-reaching views of the town and Ben Cruachan. To the left-hand side are the sofas, which sit in front of the wood burner. Help yourself to the logs provided to keep yourselves toasty and snug. There’s also a Smart TV so you and your guests can enjoy a film together. On the right-hand side of the room is the dining area, with a wooden table and chairs for you to gather around and enjoy a special home-cooked meal. The kitchen is well-organised with plenty of surface space for preparing food. Completing this level is a spacious double room and a WC. To reach the rest of the bedrooms you must walk downstairs. Here you’ll find three double rooms and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside the front of this property is a gravel driveway with space for two cars. At the rear is a grassy garden with a patio area where you can use the BBQ and dine alfresco while admiring the views.

This is a lovely house and we really did enjoy our stay here. It could do with better seating in the living room if you are a group of 5+ but hopefully this will be sorted out. The beds are very comfortable and the house is situated in a quiet spot so you'll get a good night's sleep. Our family really enjoyed staying here and would come again.
