Relax with the family in this lovely character cottage on the outskirts of rural Derbyshire. Spend your days relaxing with good company at the cottage or enjoy the local amenities which are within walking distance.

This cottage is deceptively large and has plenty of charm too. It has four bedrooms, which can fit up to eight people so big get-togethers are exceptionally comfortable here. The property has lots of space in its communal areas, while its large bedrooms are cosy, making relaxing easy. Highlights include the beamed ceilings running throughout many of the downstairs rooms, while the property’s close proximity to Markeaton Park makes entertaining all guests - whatever their age - a breeze.

The property has a large hallway, where you’ll enter first. It’s great as it can keep outerwear stowed away, out of sight, and it’s also home to a separate WC. You’ll then go through to the stunning kitchen, which retains a beamed ceiling for character. It has everything you need to cook large feasts for your big group, while an adjacent utility room means you have even more storage for keeping laundry out of the way as well as food storage in the additional freezer. It’s even got a coffee machine for your morning caffeine hit. The beamed ceilings continue through to the dining room, where you can sit down to eat with the rest of our group. The lounge has the same feature beams plus plenty of comfortable seating and a wood burner. You can kick back and relax in this cosy room in front of the TV. To find the bedrooms, there are two different staircases. One leads to two super-king zip-and-link bedrooms - so you have flexible sleeping arrangements if you need these rooms to be twins. One of these rooms has an en-suite bathroom. The other stairs take you to another super-king zip-and-link bedroom - which again can be made up as a twin if required - with the final bedroom being a double. These rooms can use the shower room with WC on this floor. Outside, the property benefits from an enclosed courtyard. There’s outdoor furniture and a parasol so it’s easy to while away the hours out here when the weather allows.

Lovely cottage. Clean and comfortable. It is on quite a nasty bend in the road so care must be taken when coming out of the front door.

Comfy stay in a charming cottage, right near Markeaton park. I would love to come back in summer! We wanted somewhere quiet but with enough to do. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the cottage. The beds were comfy and there were two main bathrooms and a ground floor loo. The kitchen equipment was good, have recommended an extra fridge aRead mores the fridge is on the smaller size and also a larger tv in the lounge. Lovely stay, would recommend for a chilled break away. Loved the log burner :) Hide

The cottage was great for a cosy family getaway. Beds were comfy. Location on the edge of Markeaton park makes for lovely walks. The cottage is basic but well equipped. Worth being aware the front door opens on to a main road on a bend so caution needs to be taken with dogs and those with mobility issues.
