For an action-packed group holiday discovering the world-famous Lake District, book a stay at this beautifully converted townhouse in Keswick. Surrounded by mountains and perched on the edge of Derwentwater, this popular market town offers plenty to the adventure-hungry holidaymaker, from water sports like paddleboarding and kayaking to rewarding hikes through the hills. The house has room for up to eight guests over four bedrooms, and four dogs are also welcome. There are two outdoor spaces including ample storage for everyone’s bikes, as well as cleaning facilities perfect for muddy shoes or bicycles – just the place for a large group of nature-loving cyclists or ramblers!

The inside of this property is fitted to a high standard, with elegant touches such as pretty mosaic tiles in the kitchen, and several period features adding traditional charm. After leaving all your coats in the hallway, step into the welcoming lounge/dining room which is excellent for relaxing as a group, with its sofas and Smart TV. This room has triple-aspect sash windows letting plenty of light in, a lovely dark wood floor and a wooden dining table ready for those sociable mealtimes. The range cooker in the kitchen is great for meal prep, and there’s a second table here for leisurely breakfasts and tea sipping with your fellow guests. In the utility room, you can wipe down muddy dogs and do the washing. There’s also a handy WC on the ground floor. The spacious and airy bedrooms, along with the huge family bathroom and separate shower room, are all on the second and third floors. At the rear of the house, you’ll find an enclosed area with a patio, tap and hosepipe, while at the front there’s another paved garden for enjoying the sunshine.

Within the town, there are plenty of independent shops to poke around as well as cafes, restaurants pubs on hand for if you fancy eating out. You’ll also find a couple of museums and a cinema. A visit to the ancient and dramatic Castlerigg Stone Circle (1.5 miles) is a must for local history aficionados. You may choose to walk or cycle the 6 miles along the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail through the beautiful tree-clad Greta Gorge – ideal for a low-key group trip. For a longer hike, the circular route around Derwentwater (0.5 miles) is an excellent option, as are the treks up to the summit of Skiddaw (5 miles) and the harder peaks of Helvellyn (11 miles) and Scafell Pike (13 miles). If your party is on two wheels, head to the mountain bike park at Whinlatter Forest (6 miles) so everyone can let off some steam.

If you fancy a stay in Keswick this house is just amazing. Its big, its airy its well equipped, The location couldnt be better and you can take the four legged family members. We stayed in Eskin House for the half term break as a group of 8, 6 adults, a 6 year old, a 4 year old & a dog. The house met all our needs & more. It's a very spacious house & is great for a large family group. We found everything very clean & everyone commented on the comfy beds & pillows. The location is second to none, 10 mins walk into KeswickRead more town centre & 10 mins walk the other direction to FitzPark which was great for the kids & dog. Have no hesitation in booking again! Absolutely lovely house in a great location. The kitchen is very well equipped, the house is cosy and warm, beds are very comfortable. The bath was a bonus treat! The house is very spacious with large rooms, bathrooms and living areas which was perfect for a group of friends with lots of dogs and children in tow! Overall a lovely house & well equipped with most things required for six adults & three children , lounge furniture is a little tired especially the sofas / a little noisy at night as it is on a busy road / location was ideal a two minute walk from the centre of Keswick / would recommend & would stay again especially for the location .

Really spacious, very well equipped, clean & beautiful house. Adult family of 5 with dogs enjoyed the large lounge diner & breakfast kitchen. Lovely property ideal location. Just needs attention to heating & hot water system & settees could do with replacing. Holiday cottage team very helpful & tried to resolve problems with heating & hot water systems. Would definitely stay again if had large party of guests. Had a lovely Christmas break.

Really lovely house with lots of room and very comfortable beds and sofas. It comfortably fitted our six adults, 2 under 2s and dog. Really appreciated the comfy chair in the bedroom for nursing and the garage where the dog slept. Thank you for a lovely stay!
