Property code: 86250

Charming detached period house with lots of characterful features and a delightful mature south west facing garden on the slopes of Blencathra with a beautiful vista over Helvellyn and Derwent fells.

Gaze out at spectacular, undulating Lakeland views through the picture windows at this magical, group holiday home, believed to be where the poet WH Auden once lived. Sleeping up to eight guests, as well as a couple of their canine companions, this four-bedroom property could suit two families wishing to holiday together or a party of friends eager to immerse themselves in the great outdoors while also being within easy reach of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Situated approximately 0.5 miles from Threlkeld, the appealing, two-storey house is just 4 miles from vibrant Keswick, with its many amenities and attractions. Plan exciting trips out together then return home to unwind in front of a crackling wood burner or soak up the Cumbrian sunshine and the views out in the garden.

Let yourselves in, leave your shoes and jackets in the laundry room and pop anything damp straight into the washing machine and tumble dryer. Then head on through to find welcoming accommodation with an abundance of character and original features. Settle in front of the Smart TV and light the wood burner in the snug or head into the lounge to lose yourselves in the views. Find a Smart TV and a wood burner in here too. Those seeking a quiet moment or two can gaze out at the sweeping vistas from the conservatory over a cup of tea. Take turns whipping up hearty feasts for your party in the exquisite country kitchen, then call everyone to the table in the dining room. Find you also have a utility room at ground-floor level. Two staircases lead up to the first floor, where there are two double bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there is a Jack and Jill family bathroom. Wake up to glorious views then head out into the very generous, enclosed garden on sunny mornings to enjoy the scenery over a cup of coffee. Dine out here too with your friends and family on fine evenings. Find you have space to store bikes, and parking for two cars.

This cottage has gorgeous views and is excellently located for walks from the door, Keswick & surrounding area. It is a fantastic size for the number of bedrooms. The drying/boot room was really helpful. The one shower was really powerful. Having sinks in some of the bedrooms was helpful to minimise demand on bathrooms for number of guests. Lovely view from cottage and comfortable lounge. Disappointed with bedrooms - need updating and more storage for clothes. Bath badly stained and a proper shower needed as one shower isnt enough for 6-8 people.

A lovely welcoming cottage with incredible views, a quirky layout and lots of space to relax and store all our biking / walking gear (and lockable bike storage). We had a great stay and the cottage was very comfortable, although some of the bedroom furniture could do with upgrading. The views are truly stunning from the lounge table and conservatory seating and the garden was very pretty. Within the quirky layout, there were plenty of spaces for smaller groupings and the lounge was a good communal space for the 6 adults in our group. The beds were comfy. We had a great week at Far Wescoe.
