An exquisite former country manor, dating back some 400 years, with an abundance of character and beautiful mature gardens, within reach of the beach and coastal walks.

Indulge in a sumptuous stay at this magnificent country house which still presents a wealth of history and an abundance of character. Nestled within 4.5 acres of spellbinding, wooded grounds and gorgeous gardens near Cod-y-Glyn, just 1.5 miles from the Welsh coastal village of Aberdyfi, with its beautiful beach, this imposing retreat takes in sweeping views out across its verdant, south-facing surroundings towards the picturesque Dyfi Estuary. Sleeping 11 guests, and also welcoming a duo of dogs, this four-bedroom holiday haven would be the perfect place for a special celebration or an extended family escape.

Tear yourselves away from the splendid surroundings of this outstanding, stone property and stroll into its magnificent reception hall, complete with ornate staircase. Make your way into the comfortable lounge to light the wood burner and luxuriate in its heat for a time or head into the sophisticated drawing room to watch TV and throw open the doors on to the magnificent gardens during warmer weather. The more energetic among you might like to stroll through to the games room for a round or two of table tennis. Decide whose turn it is to prepare everyone’s meals today and dispatch them to the generous kitchen/diner where they will discover all the equipment and accessories they need. Sit down to eat in here or in the dining room. Also at ground-floor level are a WC and a utility room. Follow the impressive staircase up to the first floor, where there are two double bedrooms, each of which has an additional single bed. Also here are two super-king-sizes, with en-suite bathrooms, up here. One of these large bedrooms also has an extra single. Also on this floor, are the family bathroom and another lounge. Spend as much time as possible out in the fabulous gardens, where you can wander as you choose or simply relax in the walled garden or another corner of this veritable paradise. Enjoy the seaside experience of Aberdyfi or venture 10 miles into the market town of Machynlleth to dine out together, peruse the shops and visit the Museum of Modern Art. Head into Snowdonia to go walking, mountain climbing or cycling. See the impressive Dolgoch Falls, 10 miles away, while you are here and have a day out at serene Tal-y-llyn Lake, 14 miles from the property and surrounded by mountains, including Cadair Idris. Take the children to see the nesting ospreys at the Dyfi Osprey Project, 13.5 miles from the house, or go on an exciting train ride along the restored 19th-century Talyllyn Railway, from Tywyn, just over 5 miles from the house.

This cottage is in a beautiful location. It is an amazing place to spend your time. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the property is huge. Its got enough space for childrens to play and for pets as well, the kitchen is well equipped (The coffee machine is the top) It need a bit of TLC but nothing to stop you booking this property. Lovely spacious house. Would recommend the beach the far side of Aberdyfi . Park in the large lay-by opposite the cemetery. 5 minutes walk to a stunning deserted beach

Very spacious and comfortable house and big garden in a very lovely corner of Wales. Location excellent apart from tricky road access and no good walking directly from the house. Great hill and beach walking a very short drive away though.
