An appealing, waterside holiday home, opposite a small beach and looking out over the River Dyfi in the Welsh seaside village of Aberdyfi, within Snowdonia National Park.

Stroll over the road to the small beach opposite this holiday home at Aberdyfi to paddle in the gorgeous Dyfi Estuary or head less than 500m to reach the town’s beautiful sandy beach. Accommodating up to eight people and also welcoming one canine companion with open paws, this four-bedroom, Welsh retreat looks right out across the water. Also set within Snowdonia, it offers access to some magnificent hill walks and mountain climbs, as well as proximity to beauty spots and attractions. Ideal for an extended family, two small families together, or a party of friends, it is somewhere to relax, savour quality time together and gaze out at glorious views, morning, noon and night.

Arrive at your inviting, four-storey abode and make your way up a short, external staircase to the front door. Wander inside to discover a generous space where everyone can spread out and relax. Find the heart of the holiday home is an open-plan lounge/diner, where you can choose a programme on TV or a movie on the DVD player. Make your way into the adjacent kitchen to prepare delicious holiday fare for your hungry group. Cook the freshly landed fish and seafood you have bought in Aberdyfi or the Welsh-grown fruit and vegetables from the market in Machynlleth, 10 miles away. Discover a dishwasher in here, so no one has too much washing up to endure, and a washing machine for rinsing beach gear. Lay the table in the dining room and call everyone through. Climb the stairs to another lounge on the floor above. Settle in here with your book for a while or lose yourselves in the stunning views out across the serene estuary. Discover you have another DVD and TV for alternative viewing. There is also a twin bedroom at this level, while another can be found on the floor above, together with a double bedroom and the family bathroom. Climb a steep, cottage-style staircase up to the top floor where a second double bedroom is situated, together with a WC. Please be aware of the restricted head height and floor beam within this characterful space. Wake up every morning and take in the magical views. Make yourself a cup of coffee and perhaps carry it over to the pebbly beach to enjoy before breakfast. Guests will be provided with a permit for Aberdyfi’s car parks, including the one at the beach.

Potter about the shops in Aberdyfi, dine out in cafes and restaurants, spend mornings on the beach and afternoons on the golf course. Members of your party might enjoy canoeing or paddle boarding on the estuary or walking along a stretch of the Welsh Coast Path, perhaps undertaking the 4-mile section to Tywyn.

House is in a perfect location right on the front street with views to die for. Great for paddle boarding or walking to the local restaurants. Downside is the property itself, it does need a bit of TLC to update the decor etc very old fashioned.

1 Glyndwr provides comfortable accommodation in a stunning location, although it would benefit from modernisation / decorating. Watching the tidal estuary and mountains from the south-facing windows was really special. The main beach in Aberdyfi and all the amenities are within walking distance. Highly recommend driving to nearby attractions like DRead moreolgoch Falls, Birds Rock, Castell y Bere, and Machynlleth. Hide

A really lovely period house and in a great location, stunning views across the Dyfi. The two living rooms are cosy and beautifully decorated. If you have not visited Aberdyfi before you are in for a treat, and this is a great base. It does need updating in places, the kitchen is very small considering the place sleeps eight, quite a contrast to thRead moree large rooms and high ceilings in the rest of the property. Hide
