Attractive stone house set in mature gardens surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Less than a mile to the local pub, serving great food and local ales. Close to the Lake District and the coast.

Escape to the glorious Cumbrian countryside and choose this fantastic rural retreat as a vantage point for discovering the outer reaches of the Lake District National Park and the coast beyond. Surrounded by open fields and luscious green hills, this period property sleeps eight across five bedrooms complete with a summerhouse equipped with a roaring wood burner for stargazing under blankets. Windermere is just 20.5 miles away and Coniston Water is 11 miles away for scenic lakeside walks, but the western lakes are ripe for adventures and iconic for their sheer beauty.

Dating back to 1886, the walls of this traditional house could tell many stories about its past. Today, it has been lovingly transformed into comfortable holiday accommodation that’s perfect for families. Cast aside your muddy boots in the porch and warm everyone up with tea and cake in the marvellous lounge that’s kept toasty by a crackling wood burner in the stone fireplace. Opening out into the stylish conservatory, you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to curl up and read your favourite book or watch the wildlife bustling about in the garden. The kitchen is the epitome of old-world charm thanks to the classic AGA, but you’ll have all of the contemporary conveniences of a fridge/freezer, microwave, and a coffee machine too. Make mealtimes a special occasion and gather everyone in the adjoining dining area, looking out across the patio. Two of the bedrooms are tucked on the ground floor along with a handy shower room but climbing the sweeping staircase will reveal three further bedrooms and an elegant bathroom complete with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Outside, the patio and garden are encircled by mature trees and shrubs, and the pretty garden room has a wood burner and seating. Off-road parking is available for three cars on the private gated drive.

Fabulous cottage, beautiful garden, very clean and super dog friendly. We had 3 large dogs - garden was fenced well enough that they did not get out, but was a bit patchy in some places. Main issue is significant road improvement scheme on approach which prover rather noisy, albeit excellent double glazing massively reduced the impact of the noise.Read more The road works do mean that the approach road to the house is now access only, which meant almost no traffic on the lane outside however! Lovely cottage with a beautiful garden although the property is dog friendly small and curious dogs could easily escape as we found areas where the fence could do with repairs. Kitchen is well equipped, all rooms are a good size, nice comfortable stay, good location for exploring.

A beautiful house, with an exceptional garden. There is a kennels nearby and you can hear the dogs each day, but its not too disruptive. We would stay again.

A spacious cottage tucked away from the major towns in the Lakes which we loved. The layout of the cottage was perfect for us with a large dining room leafing from the kitchen where we spent most of our time. Both bathrooms have been modernised to a high standard complimenting the old style cottage. Equipped to a high level with lots of crockery anRead mored cutlery so youre not constantly washing cups and cutlery. Plenty of parking for 4 cars. If you want somewhere quite off the beaten track this is it Hide
