Dating from the 1800’s, this stylish property is a great choice for a family holiday whatever the season. It boasts a village setting and easy access to some of the county’s best loved attractions.

Set your sights on this impressive Georgian property that sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms. The village of Winfrith Newburgh is an excellent vantage point for touring the Jurassic coastline and the beautiful Dorset countryside, placing you just 17 miles from the bustling town of Swanage. After a day of navigating your surroundings, the garden awaits for an evening of entertainment where you can fire up a feast on the BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven while the children use up their last dregs of energy in the play area.

Retreat to the kitchen and pull up a chair at the dining table, settling down to enjoy delicious meals lovingly prepared in the adjoining kitchen that features a marvellous AGA as well as a range of other appliances. Wake up to fresh coffee in the conservatory, and in the evenings the lounge is homely and inviting thanks to the wood burner. For a spot of privacy, you can retreat to the reading area in the snug and light the second wood burner to keep you toasty. Everyone will adore the games room with its table football and air hockey, and there is a playroom for the youngest of guests. At bedtime, you’ll find your sleeping quarters on the first floor; two king-size bedrooms, a bunk bedroom and a twin. There is a family bathroom for all those long soaks you’ve been envisaging, and one of the king-size bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath. Outside, the spacious garden is brimming with things to do including a play area with swings, a slide, a climbing wall, a treehouse and a sunken trampoline. For the grown-ups, there is a BBQ and a wood-fired pizza oven.

We really enjoyed our stay at Brook House. The trampoline, swing and tree house were a huge hit with our children and the characterful cottage was lovely to relax in. To arrive to a food hamper was lovely and we enjoyed the extra perks of things like a coffee machine. We would definitely stay here again.
