Along with its golfing heritage, the town is also home to an excellent aquarium and a great range of restaurants and cafes. After a little wander around the town, head down to the 2-mile stretch of golden sand at West Sands to paddle in the water.
Head to the fishing village of Anstruther (18 miles) for pure Scottish charm. Dine in one of the seafood restaurants or pick up a fresh bag of fish and chips, before hopping on a boat to visit the Isle of May. This national nature reserve is a fantastic spot for wildlife watching, with rare seabirds – including puffins – nesting on the cliffs and seals often spotted basking off the shore.
