Experience an undisturbed retreat in the heart of the Duddon Valley, staying together in a converted farmhouse that’s been lovingly updated to suit any modern holidaymaker. Perfect for intergenerational groups of family or friends, this holiday cottage promises to elevate your Lake District stay to one you won’t quickly forget. Whether you’re sunning yourselves in the enclosed gardens or getting cosy in the snug, the luxurious elements of this accommodation make this place a truly stand-out Cumbrian base for any group of eight. Ideally suited to those eager to explore the area on foot or two wheels, this versatile space welcomes three pups for dog-walking adventure retreats and boasts generous storage space for keeping mountain bikes securely stashed away.

There’s always a cosy space to unwind when making yourselves at home in the lounge, complete with plenty of comfortable seating for curling up in and an open fire that’s a godsend on cold evenings. In warmer weather, you might prefer to relax in the sunroom and admire far-reaching views, whilst balmy summer evenings are always best spent alfresco in the garden. When it’s time for bed, you’ll be pleased to find four versatile bedrooms, two of which feature zip-and-link beds that accommodate a variety of different guest makeups. Rest weary muscles and enjoy a great night’s sleep before heading downstairs in the morning, firing up the Nespresso coffee machine and unfurling maps on the table in the kitchen/diner to plan for action-packed days ahead.

Another extremely enjoyable stay at Esp Hall. It's a lovely, quiet idyll in its own ample grounds, deep in countryside, with a beautiful view across Duddon Valley. We stayed at Esp Hall for a week September with our friends. It is in a very quiet location, but does have the local friendly pub a mile or so up the road (20 minute walk). The cottage is well equipped and cosy. We brought extra logs for the fire as the ones supplied were minimal, and we needed the fire as the weather was not brilliant. The main beRead moredroom with ensuite was a good size, but the smaller one was small, and not too much storage space. Overall we would definitely make another visit Hide

Lovely, lovely Cumbrian house in a very quiet valley. Lovely stars at night with the dark skies too. We've stayed here before, but in hottest week of summer so a February visit was very different - lovely to light a fire and properly relax. Would really recommend this house, but please don't book the week we want as we'll definitely be back!
