Great house for a family stay, with lots of character. The grandchildren loved the wild garden and tree house, the adults enjoyed the benefits of the Royal Oak nearby. Very good location for exploring the Eden Valley and Lake District, although Appleby itself had everything necessary for a relaxing break.
