Step back in time and experience a traditional stay with your beloved family or friends, embracing a long-awaited get together in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside. Nestled amongst 12 acres of pasture and woodland, this remarkable property provides a true sense of peace and quiet allowing 14 guests to make the most of one another’s company. Wonderfully appointed for groups of all generations, the accommodation’s seven bedrooms have been made up with a variety of bedding setups so that everyone who stays will find somewhere comfortable to catch their forty winks. Groups with younger guests will be thrilled to discover an additional lounge and games barn that kids can call their own, whilst those committed to exploring the local area might make use of the horse stabling made available by the owners.

Offering a real rural feel with stone flagged flooring, exposed brick walls and plenty of original beams dotted throughout, this wonderfully presented space harks back to a simpler time in history. Step inside and find a sprawling farmhouse kitchen with a sturdy wooden breakfast table and all of the required amenities to keep everyone fed and watered. Continue through into an open-plan lounge/diner with an abundance of space for everyone to sit down, whether you're curled up by the wood burner and Sky TV or sitting around the dining table for a meal or a board game. French doors from the lounge and kitchen give way to patio and lawn space outside, the perfect touch for warm weather stays. When it’s time for bed you’ll have to ascend to the first floor via two separate staircases. Featuring a selection of kind-size, double, twin and bunk bedrooms, it’s clear to see that a variety of guest makeups will be catered for throughout your stay. You can, however, be certain that each room is equally comfortable with a quaint country décor and soft, fresh linens.

This is a beautiful location. Loved the details on the history. Bench in kitchen not comfortable but saves space. Bathrooms and kitchen looking a bit tired. Overall location trumps negatives.

A great place for a large gathering/celebration. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen. More board games and puzzles than I have ever seen. The surrounding area is stunning but be aware no local shop. Plenty of wildlife to spot, including red squirrels. We went on the steam train ride from Ravenglass which I can recommend, especially on a sunny day.
