Your Cumbrian adventure starts with a place to rest your head, and this marvellous farmhouse is a great choice for large groups and families. Spacious relaxing areas, roaring open fires and large shared gardens are just some of the treats in store, and the variety of bedrooms offer flexible sleeping space for up to 12 guests and three dogs. You’ll be positioned in the quiet village of Lamplugh on the cusp of the Western lakes, a haven for walkers, cyclists and adrenaline seekers. The Cumbrian Coastline is just 11.5 miles away too, so you’ll soon be embracing cliff-top walks and seaside scrambles around the St Bees Heritage Coast.

Step inside and be blown away by the period beams, sweeping staircases and large sash windows that hint of the property’s Georgian heritage. You’ll enter via the dining room, a pleasant space for all those hearty meals your party will soon be enjoying together. The lounge offers a space to retreat for a post-dinner coffee in front of the open fire. Return from your explorations with armloads of local produce and prepare a feast in the kitchen, appreciating the range of gadgets and appliances on offer. The utility room is the first stop for sorting muddy paws and outdoor gear, leaving you free to take a breather and open a bottle of wine. Weary and ready for sleep, there are six bedrooms split between the ground floor and first floor, all served by the generous family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, and the adjoining double and twin room is a handy solution for young families. Outside, the gardens provide 1 acre of secret areas, tiered lawns and mature flora to explore. A babbling stream trickles through the garden and you’ll also have your own private area, plus ample parking for five cars.

A spacious, comfortable, well-equipped house, well set up for our group of 11. Huge table in dining room where we could all socialise together as well as a comfy sitting room. Had a lovely stay here with groups of friends, 12 people in total over two weeks. House is lovely, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hi accommodation is really nice and clean however there are couple of things we struggled with. 1. we checked in at around 9 pm and heaters are not turned on so the place is very cold and controls for the heating is locked from guests so we spent the night in a very cold place. An absolutely lovely house in a lovely location. Good size rooms, nice bathrooms, and generally well equipped. It was warm and cosy, and the garden full of apples when we were there. Absolutely lovely gardens but for price, the house left a little to be desired. The new build housing estate down the road had some noisy building work at times during our stay. Locals with dogs we met at Congra Moss were really friendly. The info. booklet could have been a bit more informative about things to do etc.

Lovely house, gardens and location. Enclosed garden for each cottage which is perfect for dogs. Very close by to a little lake in a lovely setting and easy fell hike. I liked being slightly away from the busier parts of the Lakes with easy access to them.
