A three-storey, period property positioned minutes walk from Fistral beach and the centre of Newquay, this is a great base for families or large groups coming together.

Set back from the holiday crowds of Newquay, this cosy abode sleeps eight across four bedrooms and is a peaceful haven for enjoying Cornish hospitality in abundance. Golden sandy beaches, fantastic surfing opportunities and an array of restaurants, bars and tearooms are available within a short 0.5-mile walk, so you can enjoy a seaside holiday with all the traditional trimmings. Adventure can be found at every turn, whether you seek coastal walks with breathtaking views, gentle strolls around popular attractions, or the adrenaline rush of exciting water sports. When you’re done, head back to your very own enclosed decked terrace, perfect for two- or four-legged little ones.

Beneath the unassuming exterior is a bolthole filled with quirky accessories and retro-style paraphernalia that complement the overall relaxed atmosphere and comfortable furnishing. Wooden flooring underfoot and a soft colour palette set the scene, lulling you into a sense of relaxation as you light the fire in the lounge and sit back on the sofas. Watch films over hot cocoa and break out the board games, or you can send the children to the games room where they’ll lose themselves playing on the games console, watching TV or playing table football. The foodies amongst you will appreciate the impressive kitchen with its gas hob, double electric oven, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, microwave and washing machine, and there is a large table for mealtimes. The artistic stairs lead up to the bedrooms, three of which are situated on the first floor and boast their own en-suite facilities and TVs. Nestled in the eaves of the house is a second-floor bedroom straight out of a fairy tale complete with sloped walls, character beams and a chic seating area equipped with a sofa, electric wood burner-effect fire and a TV. It also has a lavish en-suite bathroom featuring a freestanding bath. Outside, the decked garden provides a delightful space for BBQ suppers.

Fistral beach is quite literally on your doorstep, so pack a picnic breakfast and grab the wetsuits ready for a day of fun on the golden sand. Your littlest family members can try rock pool hunting, sandcastle building and crabbing with bottomless ice cream breaks, but for the adventure-seekers, the surf is fantastic. After sunset, the town becomes a bustling hive for nightlife, whether you are seeking a fresh fish supper or you fancy a nightcap in one of the thriving bars. For daytime adventures the Eden Project (21.5 miles) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (20 miles) are well worth the drive, but you’ll be equally as amused by Newquay Zoo, Waterworld, and the Blue Reef Aquarium all within 1.5 miles.

Perfect house for us. Location was great. 10 min walk to beach. 10 min walk into town. Hardly used car. Newquay has something for everyone but the house was lovely to spend time in, garden is a lovely sun trap.

The house is absolutely beautiful and had everything you needed for the week without worrying. The area is super close to loads of beaches and had some of the best sunsets Ive seen. The welcome basket was so sweet and much needed after a long drive. If you dont drive the local beach and area offer plenty and the buses seemed frequent. Lovely comfortable and clean house in a great location for the town and fistral. All the facilities you need - loads of plates, cutlery etc and a TV in every room. Safe enclosed yard, which was great for the dogs. We used the road and nearby car parks as the parking is rather limited.

We went to Newquay as a family, everyone really enjoyed staying at the house, very comfortable with everything you need. Close to town, with just a short walk, would definitely stay again.

The house was great and suited our dynamic with each bedroom having bathroom facilities. Whilst the pictures are a true representation the house is better in person. Everything you need, even the dog had its own goodie bowl. If you have a 2nd car I would recommend parking in the car park as you turn right out of the property and straight on at the Read moreisland. Not only has it got a great view but not too busy either and price reasonable. Excellent choice all round walk into Newquay is about 10 mins Hide

Lovely house and within a 15 minute walk to the beach. The TVs and ensuite facilities were greatly appreciated by the younger members of our party. Local car parks are free from 4pm to 9am the following day. Great day trips to Polperro, Fowey, Perrinporth and Padstow. If you find the Polly Joke beach you are in for a treat.

Had a really good time at Calmynsy. The house is pretty comfortable, lots of room for everyone, and it was nice that each bedroom had an ensuite. The kitchen has all the stuff you need and we ended up cooking a few meals and eating out on the terrace, which was great. Also, there's loads to do in the area - we didn't get to half the places we planned to. Would gladly recommend it! Hide
