With countless features including a hot tub, flexible accommodation, tennis court and games room - plus attention to detail throughout - this is the ideal choice for a relaxing multi-generational break.

Traditional meets contemporary in this attractive barn conversion, inviting you to open a bottle of wine and unwind with the ones you love after a busy day exploring Dorset. Whether you are basking in the glow of a wood burner, feasting on BBQ delights or soaking in the hot tub, your accommodation is guaranteed to delight your entire group of eight. Based in a peaceful farm setting, you’ll find plenty to amuse on-site such as the excellent games room that offers table tennis, darts, pool and drinks at the bar. The friendly owners can even help you arrange tours of the farm and access to the shared tennis courts.

Rustic beams and vaulted ceilings create a sense of old-world charm, but you’ll have everything you need for a relaxing stay. There are two entrances, and if you venture through the first door you will discover an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner perfectly suited to leisurely evenings catching up with loved ones. Rustle up a charcuterie board with locally cured meats, cheeses and fruit and snuggle up by the wood burner or plan a film night with hot chocolates on the sofas. The chic kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a large table for mealtimes. Sleeping six guests in this part of the property, there are three impressive bedrooms that can be tailored to suit your party, two of which boast their own en-suite facilities, but there is also a generous family bathroom. There are two bedrooms with zip-and-link beds that can be converted into either two 2ft 6"" single beds or a king-size bed on request, and a further super-king-size bedroom with a zip-and-link bed that can also be converted into a twin. Tucked across the courtyard is the annexe, a wonderful nook for entertaining thanks to the second open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its large table, wood burner and an array of kitchen gadgets. At bedtime, the king-size bedroom is a treat with its large zip-and-link bed (that can be converted into 2ft 6"" twins on request) and lavish en-suite bathroom. Outside, the hot tub and the games room are a welcome addition. You’ll find laundry facilities in an adjacent building, and there is ample parking for four cars.

This is one of the very best self-catering cottages we have rented. The games room/bar and the hot tub were very well used by us. The spacious accommodation was perfect for our multi-generational family. Nothing was too much trouble for Susan, Neil and Duncan, who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely consider returning.
