If you can tear yourself away from all the attractions in this spectacular home, the wonderful countryside around you offers an abundance of days out and things to do. The surrounding Moffat Hills are worth packing your hiking boots for and, as a Dark Sky Reserve Status area, boast stunning starry skies late into the night. Head to Gallow Hill (2.5 miles) or take a waterfront walk along the River Annan (1.5 miles). Moffat itself is well equipped with independent shops and local pubs just a short 1.5 miles from home or visit Station Park to take a trip on the boating lake on a sunny day. Nearby you’ll also discover Grey Mare’s Tail (11.5 miles), an incredible waterfall with a pretty walking route around, well worth a trip in the car.

I am still coming down to earth after a wonderful week at Moffat Mansion celebrating my 80th birthday.. The elegant dining room and lounge provided plenty of space for 11 adults, the kitchen was so organised, every cupboard and drawer were labelled,, the beds were comfortable.and the hot tub was very popular. I cant describe how brilliant the house and the owners were. We had our wedding on-site and nothing was too much trouble for them to sort. We are already planning on returning to celebrate our anniversary there. Very special place with very special people.

We had a wonderful week with family at Moffat Mansion. When it rained (it is Scotland!) we enjoyed the house which has plenty of room. Lovely big warm and comfortable house. Plenty of room for 12 of us. Magnificent dining table which we enjoyed sharing a meal together and lots of chatter. Walking to the local pub and town was easy very flat terrain. Owners were quick to give us anything we needed to make our stay more enjoyable.

We have just spent our annual family holiday (6 adults, 7 children plus dog) at this awesome property! The space both inside and out is fantastic. The original features, traditional decor and furnishings create a great sense of the history of the house. What a fantastic mansion! Stayed here with 15 people & two dogs and absolutely loved it. Such a great location, close to Moffat for cafes and plenty of walking routes nearby. Fantastic weekend stay at Moffat Mansion. The owners have really thought of everything and we're incredibly accomodating and welcoming. The house is fantastic and so much room for all 15 guests and the outdoor area is great with the large lawn and seating area/hot tub. Would highly recommend staying here

The accommodation was perfect. Looked like a house in the 18th century with some modern elements. The whole house was decorated for Christmas. Super lovely. We had a great time with our family.
