Beautiful house in a fantastic location, right at the foot of Catbells. Comfortably accommodated our party of 18 without feeling cramped or squeezed in. Everyone agreed that we would love to come back again.

The house was just what we wanted for a family get together and although there were 20 of us there were ample lounges for a bit of peace and quiet. The bedrooms were well equipped and comfortable and the kitchen equipment and facilities - apart from one dishwasher not working - more than met our needs. We are already planning another get together iRead moren the autumn and Swinside House is likely to be our choice for that event. Hide

Swinside Lodge was the perfect house in which to host my 50th birthday! Great rooms and en-suites for all the guests, a kitchen that welcomed, warmed and fed us all wonderfully. Sitting rooms with roaring fires that mitigated against the rain outside. And the games room for the 12 year olds was the icing on the cake. Just wonderful. A brilliant house for a gathering of 19 friends. Lots of space, well equipped, clean and in a beautiful location. Just be aware the WiFi is sketchy but thats only to be expected in this type of location. We had a great weekend.

Excellent location, comfortable house, large garden and well maintained property enabled our family group of 16 to enjoy a great holiday. However, it was disappointing that only one of the three TVs was working and the curtains in some rooms were not hung up or functioning satisfactorily.

We were unaccustomed to using an Aga so bringing ready cooked food for the 1st night was a great help for our 20 people. We struggled to cook enough pizzas in 1 go on another night. Place otherwise was fantastic.
