This holiday cottage is also set close to Blencathra (2 miles, described by Alfred Wainwright as ‘a mountaineer’s mountain’ from which you can enjoy the most spectacular views of Cumbria.

Head inside to this haven of creature comforts, the perfect homely retreat after a challenging bike ride in this beautiful region. Book a group tour of the Keswick Brewery (5.5 miles), visit the Derwent Pencil Museum (6.5 miles), or head for Whinlatter Forest (10 miles) where you can walk with alpacas! Or swing from tree canopies 1,000 feet above sea level with Go Ape! forest adventures. Go shopping in the historic market town of Penrith (12 miles) where you can also see castle ruins, or fish for your supper in the Eden Valley (17 miles). Visit the National Trust Acorn Bank (18 miles), known for its splendid herb gardens and ancient fruit orchards. Enjoy refreshments in the tearoom while there and walk along Crowdundle Beck towards the old watermill where you can enjoy views of the Eden Valley in the magnificent Cumbrian landscape.

Wardrobes in 1 bedrooms. other bedrooms had hooks on walls with coat hangers Very tatty/dated throughout and in need of desperate redecorating and cleaning. The cottage was clean, and well equipped and a few minutes drive away from the keswick town centre. The owner was available on phone for any queries. The property has 1 combined bathroom and toilet which was abit of a struggle for 8 people.

Its ok. Part of a small complex of holiday cottages (which isnt made clear on the website). The decor is tired and the place doesnt feel particularly clean - the pictures make it look better than it really is. Lots of flies- its right next to a cattle shed. I cant say we would rush back.

Great location and setting House is good value although could be brightened up, quite quirky. Kitchen is very modern and house is warm with lots of hot water etc. Tap is good but takes getting used to. Only one bathroom but it's workable.

Good location if coming from the north or east. Easy access to keswick. Nice pub a mile away. Comfortable cottage, strange eclectic mix of furnishings, odd statues and ornaments that are not really needed. Warm and cosy.
