Sleeping 15 guests across eight bedrooms, this historic hunting lodge enjoys a rural setting on a working arable farm in Staffordshire. Hens, stags, and canine companions are warmly welcomed to this characterful retreat with The Staffordshire Way walk right on your doorstep. After a fun day of shopping and sporty activities, kick back and unwind in your handsome holiday home, or enjoy an evening out at one of the pubs in the village of Abbots Bromley (2.5 miles) which also has a village shop for essentials and a choice of eateries. For weekly shops and market town attractions, head to nearby Uttoxeter (7.5 miles). Ample off-road parking and bike storage is available for guests.

 

Step into this handsome lodge which has an air of grandeur and olde-worlde charm with country-style interiors. Admire the wood-panelled entrance hall and the opulent drawing room with its open fire – the perfect room for pre-dinner drinks, speeches, and storytelling. Recline on leather sofas in the living room and catch up in the heart of the home by the warming wood burner. Share recipes and take turns to prepare feasts together in the spacious farmhouse kitchen where fellow guests can see your culinary masterpiece come to life with the help of the electric range oven and hob and a variety of kitchen gadgets. Or hide away in the smaller kitchen at the back of the house where you can create a secret recipe to serve in the formal dining room. After your fun celebrations, you’ll find eight plush bedrooms upstairs with beautiful features from timber-beamed ceilings to countryside views, along with six bathrooms (including five en-suites). The bedrooms with zip and link beds can also be reconfigured by request to suit your group. There’s a handy ground floor bathroom, a ground floor boot room, a utility, and ample space for everyone to spread out and find quiet time. Outside, you’ll find a large lawned garden and a seated patio terrace where you can relax and make plans for a new day. Discover all the charms of National Trust Shugborough Hall with dog-friendly grounds and gardens (10 miles). Creative guests should visit Staffordshire’s world-renowned potteries, with factory tours and visitor centres to enjoy throughout Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding villages (23 miles). Daredevils should head to Alton Towers for thrill seeking theme park fun (17 miles), or tower over treetop canopies together with the help of Go Ape! in Birches Valley Forest Centre (10 miles). Beautiful old house with lots of space for everyone, plenty of crockery and cutlery with lots of pans, trays etc. Plenty of dinning space and seating for everyone. The host was lovely and communicated everything clearly. House was lovely and warm and some times too warm. Lovely big house on a remote farm. 4 really good sized bedrooms. Smaller rooms are fine for a weekend but minimal storage. Great for our family weekend away.

Great size of property for a belated family Christmas celebration. Comfortable beds and bathrooms and cosy big lounge and big dining table. Although the property is a farmhouse it does need updating as it is quite tired

The accomodation was great throughout. Very comfortable, warm and cosy. Plenty of crockery and cooking utensils Lots of room for our family get together. Added bonus having the barn with snooker table etc. Great rural location. Loved the peace and quiet of the countryside but still near enough to visit the local attractions.

A great place to stay for our extended family, 4 birthdays and a wedding anniversary to celebrate while we were there. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the property was well equipped. We noted a hot tub for the week and a bouncy castle for one day and didn't need to leave the property. We had a wonderful family reunion. 4 families all together, there was loads of space to be together or find a quiet spot away from everyone. The main sitting room had a fabulous open fire and comfy sofas, perfect as an adult only retreat! We loved Park Lodge for our family gathering. Bedrooms are lovely, very well equipped kitchen, several dishwashers - no washing up!. It is a super location for a get away from it all stay.

The cottage was very comfortable especially the beds which everyone said were great. Some areas looked a little jaded and could benefit from a a bit of a update but given the age and history of the building this was to be expected.
