Perfect for larger groups looking for a relaxing break near the stunning Jurassic Coast, this delightful 18th-century, detached thatched farmhouse is a spacious and homely hideaway. Sleeping up to nine people across four bedrooms, along with three canine companions, it’s an idyllic country home surrounded by peaceful farmland, with a shop and pub within walking distance. Boasting a games room and private hot tub for evening dips under the stars, this rural retreat allows you to do as much or as little as you like.

This beautiful red brick farmhouse oozes character and while it has all the modern comforts you’d expect, many traditional features remain. The open-plan and light-filled kitchen/dining room is a great space for entertaining, as well as a super spot to start the day with chatter at the table as you all enjoy a hearty breakfast. Original beams, stone floor and an open fire add to this room’s charm. Budding chefs will love cooking up a storm on the Range oven and hob in the well-equipped kitchen, which has all you need for light breakfasts or formal family meals. When it’s time to relax, head for the cosy sitting room where sumptuous sofas and a roaring wood burner invite you to unwind and put your feet up in front of a film. Those not quite ready for bed will love the games room, where you’ll find table tennis. When it’s time to turn in, head upstairs where you’ll find four pretty and restful bedrooms spread. All are zip-and-link rooms making the sleeping arrangements as flexible as you need them to be.

Step outside and really soak up the holiday atmosphere with a dip in the hot tub, as you stargaze and sip on a glass of bubbly. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy chatting long into the night on the dining terrace, which overlooks rolling fields as far as the eye can see.

Lovely old farmhouse. Very warm and comfortable. The location is perfect (quiet with lovely views across the fields at the rear of the property). View spectacular. House great. All beds into singles is a real bonus. All facilities especially garden, hot tub, trampoline, ping pong, make it a kids paradise. Slope prevented cricket matches but plenty of football. Walk to pub down tracks is possible but walk back a step too far and often closed so everything else is a car or taxi ride. Great location and lovely house. Good quality all through the property and really nice to have more glasses, crockery and cutlery than the standard 8 settings you get elsewhere. Definitely to be recommended. The Spyway Inn is worth a visit, lovely people and food was great.
