Nestled in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this former shooting lodge offers a fantastic base for a getaway with friends and family. This delightful property sleeps up to eight guests and two four-legged family members, across four bedrooms. Soak up the pretty countryside views from your private hot tub at this gem of a property, which allows you all to retreat, relax and reconnect. Located just 3 miles from the spectacular beach at Eype on the Jurassic Coast and 4.5 miles to the popular village of West Bay.

Tucked away at the end of a private lane, this light and bright cottage is full of charm, with a clean and crisp feel throughout. The inviting lounge is a great spot for everyone to gather in front of the cosy wood burner, while the kids entertain themselves with the TV and games to be found in the snug. Meanwhile, the dining room is a lovely space for socialising and entertaining, with a large table which will comfortably seat all your guests for long, informal suppers while the wood burner crackles away. Those in charge of the cooking will find everything they need in the well-equipped kitchen, which boasts a Range oven and hob. There are three beautiful bedrooms to be found in the main property, each designed in calming, neutral tones. One is en-suite, while there is also a family bathroom for everyone’s use too. Stepping outside into the garden, you’ll find a delightful separate one-bedroom log cabin which can accommodate two people. This private hideaway also features its own lounge area, as well as a veranda and outside seating area. There is plenty of space for all the family in the garden. Younger guests will have fun on the trampoline while the rest of you enjoy a soak in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly. Fire up the BBQ here or if you don’t fancy cooking, you’ll find a great local pub in a picturesque Dorset village, just 1.5 miles away.

Many thanks to the lovely people at the estate for making our stay so enjoyable. The Apple Day event was wonderful. Our granddaughters loved the old fashioned country games.

A fantastic week away. The house was perfect. Beautifully equipped with all that we needed and very comfortable. The welcome basket was lovely and all essentials were provided (washing up liquid etc). The outside space was perfect for BBQs and relaxing in the sunshine and was incredibly peaceful

The location was fantastic, we loved the views. The garden was secure enough to contain our energetic dog (collie cross) and there was plenty of room to throw a ball for him. We enjoyed the hot tub. We had a lovely stay here and it is very well equipped and peaceful. A short country walk to the restaurant and estate shop, with a pub down the road too. If you want somewhere with beautiful views, enjoy comfy beds and sofas, and want somewhere to stay that is really well equipped. this is the place for you. Just be careful if you don't own a 4x4 in the winter, as some of the roads can be precarious in bad weather getting to the lodge from the village. Having said that, we our stay!

We had a great week at Dorset Gem, despite rather mixed weather. The cottage is very well appointed, warm and comfortable.
