This property enjoys a pretty location, on the edge of the village of Smarden - a slice of classic Kentish countryside. Explore on foot to discover antique shops and cafes, two lovely traditional pubs for a pint of something local, and even an art gallery. Don your walking boots to journey into nature, taking the footpaths that snake and sneak into the very heart of the county. For history buffs, Leeds Castle, a magnificent 900-year-old structure surrounded by a moat is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy a meal in the restaurant, get lost in the maze, or take in a display of falconry. The castle and surrounding town are a pleasant 10-mile drive from your house. Or, venture 5 miles to Sissinghurst Castle and its lovely gardens, famously owned and looked after by writer Vita Sackville-West.

Brilliant facilities, especially outdoor pool and hot tub and indoor pool table and table tennis board. These kept 3 generations of our family entertained. Our grandchildren did not want to leave.

The house was absolutely perfect for us (three generations of one family). The weather was glorious too, so much fun was had in the superb pool and hot tub. The games room was enjoyed by everyone in the evenings. We all had a wonderful holiday.

This is a fabulous property. It is exactly as stated in the blurb. The owners were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the games room, pool and the pool house with shower etc. We appreciated the generous provision of bbq coals, stuff for the dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of loo rolls etc.

We rented West Hoy Oast to celebrate my partners birthday. There were ten of us and two dogs and at no point did we feel like we lacked space. The property is beautifully decorated, with a well appointed kitchen, games room and and spacious garden and pool area. Nigel, the owner was also extremely helpful and very pleasant. Will definitely be back.

Linda & Nigel are the best hosts we've ever had. So kind and helpful! We feel grateful that they wanted to share their little paradise with us. The house was bigger than we expected and met all of our needs. The hottub kept our kids entertained for hours!

The setting, with private fields was bliss with a dog. The house is very well equipped and maintained - so there are washing capsules for the washing machine, all the pool cues are in good order, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, soap in the showers etc. All those things that many places scrimp on which annoy. We had a great weekend at the West Hoy Oast. The jacuzzi was used everyday, twice by some of us always brilliant when the weather is cold. Lin and Nigel were the most helpful couple. The Oast house is lovely and spacious and equipped with everything you could need. Thanks for a super weekend.

What a beautiful place this is. We haven't been on holiday for 5 years so decided to spoil ourselves, and spoilt we were. Absolutely stunning scenery outdoors and plenty of space for our dog who had the time of his life , running freely and exploring. When looking for a family holiday home this one met everyone's requirements and it proved to be exceptional. Pool and hot tub checked every day by owners and used every day by family. Any minor problems immediately sorted. Plenty of space if you wanted some me time. Loved it.

Everyone loved it. The pool, hot tub and games room were a big hit with everyone of all ages. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out for privacy when necessary and lots of communal spaces to be sociable together.

We stayed at the Oast for a family weekend in the middle of May and had an amazing time. All the rooms are spacious and well equipped. We made use of all the facilities- as it was chilly when we arrived we lit the wood burner and used the excellent games room. 10 people stayed at the house for 2 nights as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. It was one of the few places I found that could sleep 5 coupled in double beds. We were all very impressed with the house and made good use of the hot tub.
