Property code: CA233

Find peace and seclusion in this traditional Scottish lodge at the heart of the vast and magnificent Kildermorie Estate, perfect for getting large groups together.

Due the Scottish Governments rules on single households we are now offering one wing of the lodge at a reduced rent as advertised. Guests can book 4 or 6 bedrooms all ensuite.

Accommodating up to 20 guests, across ten bedrooms, this property really takes you off the beaten track – you’re provided with your own phone booth however, in case you need to get in contact with the outside world. It’s perfect for an intimate celebration or long-awaited reunion, where your time away is all about enjoying each other’s company. Pack your books and favourite board games and come prepared with your shopping if you intend to stay in, as you’ll need to drive 13 miles to the town of Alness to pick up some more. Here, 1 mile from the shores of Loch Morie, you’re in the true midst of the remote Highlands.

Inside, the stunning interiors have a timeless charm, and have been thoughtfully decorated to retain a traditional elegance. In the living areas of the house, period furniture, ornately patterned rugs, and classic art and ornaments hanging on the walls give the entire property a luxurious yet homely feel. While coats and any damp clothes can be put away in the drying room, you can be removing your shoes ready to relax for the evening, in the spacious entrance hall complete with a granite fireplace and deep armchairs. Whoever is looking after the cooking during your stay, whether the group is taking it in turns or you’ve opted for the week to be fully catered, will be extremely pleased with the kitchen, where the commercial gas cooker and ovens will have no trouble dishing out a hearty dinner for everyone. Eat in the atmospheric dining room, hung with tapestries, below medieval-esque chandeliers at the long wooden table, then retire upstairs to the large open-plan sitting room. This is the heart of the house where you will gather every evening around the open fire. Lounge on the sofas, challenge each other over games, and play a tune on the piano. Finish with a hot drink or tipple of choice, and head to one of the pretty bedrooms which are spread across the ground and first floors. All have en-suite facilities, so you can soak in a hot bath or shower at your leisure before rolling into bed.

The surrounding countryside boasts a typically Scottish landscape, featuring vast lochs and rugged moors. During your travels, be sure to keep a keen eye out for the local wildlife that you might not see too often in your day-to-day life, including otters, osprey, falcons, and red, roe or sika deer. Wander the winding country road down to Loch Morie, which is about 1 mile away. Permission to fish from either bank or boat is included with the property, so be sure to fish for resident brown trout here. If you visit out of shooting season, you can still practise your shot with a trip to a nearby clay pigeon club, 14.5 miles away.

If golf is your preferred sport, then make your way to local town of Alness (12.5) for a large golf course. Here you can find a local pub for a post-game Scotch, or a fish and chip shop for collecting food and returning home. If Scottish whisky is your drink, then be sure to book a tour and tasting at the local distillery (14 miles).

It's no surprise that this property is ideally suited for those looking for an outdoor break, however it is incidentally also handy for getting to the Scottish city of Inverness by car (31 miles). Here you'll find restaurants, bars and a performing arts centre that are worth visiting before your visit comes to an end.

A beautiful setting at an amazing location equipped with a host of amenities in and around the cottage. Highly recommended. The only drawback for some could be the road within the estate - rocky track road.

We had a fantastic time at the cottage and all the staff were great, super helpful and friendly. A variety of activities within theRead more estate to keep us busy and entertained.
